It speaks more to the nature of how you've conducted yourself up until this point. Again, been there, done that. You've been better as of late.

Tells me that you've pissed off a lot of people I think...

I know I for one don't bother making trade offers to you because I don't want to hear the chewing out that usually follows, or did. We haven't talked trade in some time so I'm not sure how it is now.

It's apparent you've been trying to be nicer, I mean hell, I even mentioned it to Lee earlier. But first impressions are tough to shake. You were quite abrasive for a good while there..

PS. Hopefully you just take a break rather than quit. You obviously know hockey and I think you're still a valuable member of the community.

It's the tenth overall waiver pick, Billy. For an NHL'er. I'd like to see proof of picks of 10 or lower going for a full-time NHL'er and the success rate of such transactions.

Anyways, sorry to lose you Chris, I hope
you decide to just chill for a bit, enjoy the summer and come back focused for another solid year in the BBKL.

But in all honesty - this league is awesome , those that have problems with it seem to eventually admit the problem actually lies elsewhere (not saying This is the case, just that it's happened before) . The toughest thing about this league is the same thing that makes it best, 30 unique GMs, incredible depth and a strong group of committed members.

Hence, why I took off and refuse to have anything to do with getting the BBKL site back up until my twitter feed was spammed with comments about it. Again, it's my fault for having expectations of reasonable discussions. There's only one person I chew out for awful offers because it's all he does with regularity and everyone knows who he is already.

If you ask Shiv, Shep, or others, you'll find that I never really do low-ball. Though I did do it to Neel today to get a reaction out of him since he takes for-friggin'-ever to reply.

And Billy, yes. It was my way of encouraging others. Unfortunately, I have no way of feeling encouraged about my place in this league.

Ye no doubt our trade market could be more active. But this isn't a new league or a 1 year league, this is a fully developed keeper league with long term aspirations.

This might be a great league, but a league can only be as good as the people who occupy it. I think this league would be much better if the GMs are more willing to communicate. It's not difficult. I know people have lives outside of the BBKL (life takes prevalence), but the length of time and lack of updating "Hey, I"m going to be away, let's chat about this at so-and-so if you're around/let's take this to PMs" is infuriating.

It goes back to what I said earlier: My time is my time, and if I feel it's being unnecessarily wasted, then why bother with this league?

It can grow tiring for sure, so I do know how you feel. I just don't bother with those GM's that you are talking about.

I try and make a very strong effort to get back to people ASAP. If I don't it's probably because I feel trading with you is like pulling teeth lol.

We're not forcing you to "bother" with this league.

As for you saying this other league is more exciting etc .. obviously it is going to be, BBKL is a established 4 year league. Its not the beginning, with new players and new people to talk to.

When BBKL first started .. Nick and myself, along with 28 other GM's were avidly online .. ready to talk trades at anytime on MSN. Continuously trying to make the beter spreadsheets etc. This all has diminishing returns in the end. GM's are not going to be sitting on MSN 10 hours a day anymore, but one thing they do is check PM's at a good rate.

Lastly - Maybe if you didnt break your team down from a playoff team to dust in the cellar .. you would still be having fun because you would have players people actually want.

Yes, i just stirred the pot.

I've been in a 20-team baseball keeper league for 7 years going on 8. If there's one thing I have, it's patience to build a perennial winner. 4 championships and counting. We trash-talk, get pissed off at low-balls, and laugh at stupid things, but if there's one thing that this league does well, it's communicate. Mock my strategy all you want, but I'm not going to take the team I inherited and give anyone reason to think I won off someone else's effort.

No need to take shots at those here Chris. I've never heard of a league anyway close to as good as the BBKL, and it was build by those that are here. So yes we're only as good as our members, and our members kick ass.

If you are going to leave, do so like an adult. If you are going to stay, be committed.

So explain why people have been quitting, Mash has no interest in getting the league back up quickly, and so on and so forth? You're missing the forest for the trees here. A lot of people are burnt out from the effort it takes to try and get anything done here.

There is no one way to run a team or conduct business here but I think all anyone wants to see is that you try and you have fun. Anyone that burns themselves out is usually someone trying way too hard or is just obsessed to an unhealthy level. We all have to walk the line of this being just a fun hobby and becoming a chore.
