Shoalzie wroteCOLONWith CBS not having their stats from this year, their comparison tool is basically useless. I've added a simple comparison tool to the stats spreadsheets...I just uploaded a new version.
thx for this..

probably needs some fixing though:
when i use the compare tool, stats seem shifted one column on the right.
you have zeros for BS, and stats are shifted as a result.

For example Shane O'brien in reality has 138 hits and 105 PIMs, not 86 hits and 138 PIMs, and 130 SHTOI, not 32.83.

For the purposes of trading in the off-season and valuing/gauging a player value for trading, this should be stickied during the off-season at the least.

YA... some deals I made I admit were right out blindly without stat checking, and I regret some and love some... but I definitely will be taking the initiative to check every players involved in ALL of my future off-season trades.

FTR with that being said, Stafford and Malone just got A LOT more expensive

Stafford:
NHL.com wroteCOLONThe Buffalo Sabres did a lot of shopping last summer only to come up empty in the Eastern Conference playoff race. So this summer, they opted to pull in the reins.

The Buffalo Sabres added talent and size at the center position in the 2012 NHL Draft, and two of those draftees could crack the roster in Owner Terry Pegula, who opened his checkbook last summer to bring in forward Ville Leino and defenseman Christian Ehrhoff, opted not to make any management changes -- meaning Darcy Regier and Lindy Ruff, the NHL's longest-running GM-coach duo, will be back this season. So will No. 1 goaltender Ryan Miller, the top four on defense, and the three top scorers: Jason Pominville (73 points), Thomas Vanek (61) and Drew Stafford (50).

Shoalzie, this definitely got most of us through the off-season so far I'm sure. You're #1.

I believe CBS stats are back up now, just so everybody knows.

Shoalzie wroteCOLONI've got something new I whipped up. Through collecting all the birth dates and career games played for every player that played in a regular season or postseason game, I have a spreadsheet of all players' waiver status.

One tab has all players and you can sort through them. It lists age, GP and their differential waiver qualifications.

One tab has just the "must clear" players. They either show if they're older than 28 or if they're over on age and GP based on if they are a F/D or goalie.

One tab has just the "exempt" players. It shows their current status of if they're over on age or GP.

Note: all ages are based on the player's age on opening night (October 11, 2012)

If you're familiar with the waiver rules, this'll all make sense. I hope this can used as a useful resource for the league to help out with the in-season waiver process and with roster submission.

Are we still using October 11, 2012 as our waiver exempt date or are we using January 15/19?

I can post an updated spreadsheet if we're using the new opening date.

There hasn't been a resolution, but yes, we seem like we're sticking with the original start of season date.
