Haha. I was with a buddy who happens to have the same birthday as I. That caused delays... Did we buy our IDs from the same black market?

But he didn't have to perform for the catholic cop, did he?

Just saying, 2+2 = 4; Look it up.

I just hate our roster decisions... Lombardi sucks, Komi sucks, franson is meh, Luke cannot seem to go 60min w/o a bad brain fart, Gunner is beyond passive lately... MacArthur on the point...damn... he cannot move the puck w/o skating, bad PP player... Kadri with a very soft game.

I want Jake Gardiner back, priority #1. Matt Frattin is an obvious call up for me... all you had to do was watch a game to see that he belonged, and yet his roster spot that he earned was lost to vets...
I thought Franson was incredible last night, his ice time was indicative of that too, he was third in ice time IIRC.

A bunch of us were talking about this in my basement last night while we watched the game. Lombardi is bleeeeeehhhhhhhh.

Did anyone else notice there was almost a scrap in the stands? Looked like it at least... Around the 3rd period...behind the penalty box area..
There are playmakers, and then there are play killers, Matthew Lombardi fits quite comfortably into the latter category.

He was fucking BRUTAL defensively. Worst game of the year for him, regardless of his terrific first-passes.

I'm with Chris (ugh, new hampshire, etc) Cody was unforgivably bad in our zone, like he typically is but lazier.

His body positioning on his man was completely retarded all night. I think he tried to get in front of a guy facing one way on our blue-line and got turned inside out when (Pominville?) switched directions. Thankfully, Komisarek covered his ass and it ended up being a dump-in.

I hate that Komi is playing well.. but he is.... so not overly mad at him dressing... but I cannot even begin to fathom the reasoning to not have Gardiner dressed...

A trade I think. That, or the management group decided to ease off his ice-time to give him a bit of a breather since this is his first full pro season.

so ask Wilson to keep his minutes under 20 a game instead of leading the team in TOI?

Gardiner has not played a 82 game season, and is used to a much shorter ncaa season, kids probably a bit gassed.
He'll be back in, a few games im sure.

It's not that simple. 82 * 17 minutes is still roughly 1,400 minutes a season. Hard for a rookie to manage that kind of ice-time when he's been conditioned to take on 40ish games.

Nothing has signalled the minutes are a problem? His conditioning and big minute ability seem to be without a doubt?

I think saying he's gassed is speculation and/or over-simplifying the situation; yes it is average for NCAA players to have GP issues in the switch, applying an average to an individual is a mistake. Also lined up with trade time, vet's returning, and RW being an idiot with other roster decisions.

Anyways... would like to see him returned to the lineup, quickly becoming my favourite leaf; especially when he's hitting a little :P

Jake Gardiner looked uncharacteristically poor in 3 of his last 4 games, and had his ice time turned back, I don't think it's outlandish to point too conditioning as an issue, but honestly, all speculation aside RW is not an idiot. If Jake Gardiner is not in the lineup there is a reason, either Gardiner is tired, or the current group is better, or the Leafs are showcasing someone, I don't know. What I do know is that Wilson wouldn't make his lineup weaker without a reason.

+3 in last 5... all big minutes; #2 un toi both of last games. no - in last 6... hows Komi doing? Franson? Schenn? Gunner?

If he's down in the AHL I wouldn't be shocked if we missed the playoffs.. Colborne, Frattin and Gardiner are players that add something to the leafs, with them in minors we're outside looking in.

LOL yeah Frattin and Gardiner being in the minors will be the reason why we miss the playoffs.

there is no denying that gardiner slowed down in his last 5 or 6 games. people just need to relax - we have our future #1 puck moving defenceman and pp quarterback here and he's developing very nicely. in all likliehood, a d-man, if not more than one, will be shipped out in the next coming weeks and jake will be back anyway.
