Ya, I think we all get it but why stomp your feet about it? This exact same thing has happened to me at least 10 times. I won't name names, but there's one person who has done this to me 3 times alone. It pisses you off, but fuck, it happens. You swallow hard (definitely, no homo), take a deep breath, and carry on with your day.

I think that convo makes billy bad but no where near as bad as posting it makes shiv look.

Lets get real that has happened to us all and will happen to us all again. Time to move on here bud.

Thank god I didnt do that....

but really yeah the way that conversation reads I look bad, but A) Shiv was stalling hard B) it hadnt been posted C) Who hasnt had a gm, backout at the last minute D) Im sure exact situations happen to real gms.

I even felt bad and went to post it anyway and shiv declined to cause a scene and then posted this. so meh hate all you want.

No hate here. That is why we have a confirmed trades thread. Some people are so aggressive in there trade tactics and almost force you into accepting a deal, that sooner or later you just have to come to your senses and say fuck it, i'm out. Thats how it happens sometimes. Part of the deal. Sometimes it goes smoothly and is easy, other times its back and forth and sometimes deals just crumble at the last minute. That how this shit works. Really though. Shiv you didn't need to post this. Lets throw our fellow GM's under the bus. :|

Perhaps, but I am of the belief that once you offer a deal, and it is accepted or utter the words "deal" or "post it" you have to abide by the deal, irregardless of the consequences. It is simple etiquette, and I guarantee no one has had an experience with me that contradicts the above.

Irregardless of any consequences, irregardless is not a word.

I didn't decline to cause a scene. I declined because it was the 3rd time you had backed out on a deal you had agreed to post. Anyways I wanna drop this.

I accepted that deal..Also, this is not a firm offer:

7/31/2011 5:52:15 PM Scott (#15) (so) |< @ R 3 E /\/\ (so) honestly though, I like my D and Hedman, I'm sure will cost a pretty penny
7/31/2011 5:52:27 PM (#15) (so) |< @ R 3 E /\/\ (so) Scott mostly prospects
7/31/2011 5:52:56 PM Scott (#15) (so) |< @ R 3 E /\/\ (so) entertain me then with an offer
7/31/2011 5:53:54 PM (#15) (so) |< @ R 3 E /\/\ (so) Scott kk
7/31/2011 5:55:00 PM (#15) (so) |< @ R 3 E /\/\ (so) Scott Marincin + Forbort + McIlrath
7/31/2011 5:55:03 PM (#15) (so) |< @ R 3 E /\/\ (so) Scott something along those lines
7/31/2011 5:57:05 PM Scott (#15) (so) |< @ R 3 E /\/\ (so) hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
7/31/2011 5:57:14 PM Scott (#15) (so) |< @ R 3 E /\/\ (so) ok, done deal
7/31/2011 5:57:27 PM (#15) (so) |< @ R 3 E /\/\ (so) Scott lol...chill out
7/31/2011 5:57:34 PM (#15) (so) |< @ R 3 E /\/\ (so) Scott im still weighing shit out
7/31/2011 5:57:43 PM (#15) (so) |< @ R 3 E /\/\ (so) Scott also never expected u to just say deal

Notice "something along those lines", I was just throwing out pieces I was interested in, and almost immediately afterwards we made the deal.

this a no win situation, you can look at it both ways, i can see how shiv would get pissed if you have an offer on the table, the other gm says deal, post it up, and on the other hand billy suddenly wakes up from a 5 minute brain cramp he was having thinking player x is gonna make this deal (maybe he forgot a critical fact or circumstances recently changed) but then he wakes up and hes freakin the fuck out, omg wtf did i just do... ive had gms back out on me at the conclusion of a deal and i was really pissed, and then ive also been on the cusp of accepting a couple of deals but i was able to slide my way out of it without looking like too much of a douche and i was relieved to be able to get out of it because the deal would have been terrible for me and i had mistankely believed a falsity to be true... the fact that shiv was what sounds like stalling from billy's pov makes this even more pissing for shiv as he just wasnt able to make it public in timely manner. Regardless shit happens and you just gotta roll with..... everybody everybody get your roll on... what what... everybody everybody get your roll on

Yea, I kind of agree with you in a way. I always use post it as my final decision. Once that is uttered it would be a bit dirty to step back but also that is a live and learn situation on who you can trust or not or who in the past has backed out in a verbal agreement. I guess learning each GM's tendencies helps too. Although sometimes it may come across as harsh I appreciate GM's with prompt replies to offers where it is basically nope, not interested.
