Good write up. Takes some time to research this to put in a valid order. I got some cap issues about 2 hit me hard. I got like 3 mil in space but I am yet to sign Bernier and Callahan. I think Callahan will get 3.5 - 4.5 mil per in arbitration. Bernier might not even get signed, lol.

I actually put Boston 1st as well. Facey has uncertain goaltending and I am not as deep as last season due to a whole bunch of raises. Still alot of time before playoffs though lol.

I don't see my team near as strong. I will be forced to make some changes due to cap as well. After going through the teams i must say one thing. West is stronger than East now, imo. People are really catching on to the periphery players and the value they hold. The pure offensive talents are not the highest value players in this league. The Mike Richards, Ryan Keslers and Datsyuks are stat beasts in EVERY category. That holds big value.

Datsyuk's periphs actually aren't fantastic. He's one of those guys who's much more valuable in real life than BBKL.

defensive awareness, relentless backchecking, and takeaways dont show up on the BBKL stat sheet. he lacks in the periphs we actually consider in this league: hits, shtoi, pims, bs

richards, kesler, perry, toews, e. staal, brown, bergeron, backes, lucic are the real bbkl powerhouses imo.

Perry is a fucking super star no doubt. But he doesn't really hit every periph like some of those guys you mentioned. Only had 64 hits and 41 bs last year in a full season where as a guy like Datsyuk had 54 hits and 22 bs in only 56 games (he just doesn't PK, but is one of the better FO men in the league). Perry does add some decent pims though and SHTOI.

EDIT. B4 anyone comments on me trading perry. First of all, go fuck yourself. Second of all, my team is better off now than it was when I had Perry on my team. /end preemptive rant


PS. I think I'm a challenger for a playoff spot in the East now so watch out . McBain + Vanek into the starting lineup, Perron and Fehr out.

98 pts, 104 pims, 135 shtoi is enough for powerhouse status imo. much more of an overall threat than datsyuk anyway.

All I was trying to get at was this.

If you are going to call Perry a bbkl powerhouse. You have to Datsyuk as well. All Datsyuk lacks over Perry is shtoi and pims. Which i think he makes up for by being one of the best FO men in the league. Not to mention, Dats also routinely destroys Perry in +/-.

Datsyuk = Powerhouse if Perry = Powerhouse.

this is going to sound completely homer as well but i think a full season of healthy Oshie will put him pretty damn close to that group.

pro-rated last season: 60 pts, ~130 hits, ~165 shtoi, ~70 blocks

only 24 too.

Oshie is sick. I won't argue anything with regards to him .

I forgot to throw in the hat for Getzlaf....He gets em all too. Some valid points on Dats as well.
