John Tavares is currently the better player, and has a significantly higher ceiling than PK Subban. Your only hope to save face in this deal is Grabovski, as a Leaf fan I really hope there is another gear.

That said, PK isn't going to take a step back at the age of 21....he was Montreals best player in the playoffs.....

I'll agree that he needs to work on his defensive game, he made some horrible mistakes in the playoffs, but he also hit everything that moved....I think he could very well become a franchise dman. Heck, i'd almost do Tavares for PK...if that offer was on the table.

if it was grabo + subban for tavares, its digestable even though tavares' ceiling is scary high.

why you chose to add del zotto amazes me. grabo is not that good (i hope as a leaf fan he is). but as a fantasy asset, there are a whole range of factors due to which grabos value could decrease.

let me put it this way. lets assume your best case steve where subban reaches top young d man value like tyler myers ( i won't say doughty because thats way high and very unlikely). and then lets assume tavares can become a top center in this league with delzotto becoming smething good. and grabo gets a little better. a top centers value (getz, toews, stammer, malkin etc etc) will fetch tyler myers + grabovski any day (and thats assuming there isnt a bidding war lol). and tavares will become a top center.
