Divisions aren't the issue, it's conferences. If you move a team out of the NE it has to be Kyle, and because I know he won't volunteer to move I want to be the team that switches.

Why does it have to be Kyle? Mike, Chuck, Billy & Toph all have very strong teams and are very capable GMs. Just admit it, you want out because you want to move to the easier conference, period!

Why are divisions not the issue? Division titles give home ice advantage and with the tie break what it is, it's huge to have. Also, with playing your divisional enemies twice a year I'd say evening out divisions is MORE important then evening out conferences. Isn't that one of the reasons Nick moved to Tampa Bay last year?

Right now, all the divisions are fairly balanced with the exception of the NE & the Central. If anything, those 2 divisions could trade a team each.. it's the ONLY move that makes sense.

Yes, Scott because the difference between the West and East is Toph, Billy, Mike or Chuck (no disrespect intended to anyone of these teams)...The difference is bigger even than I. The reason I want out is because it significantly decreases my odds of winning, that is no secret. It is not fair that I, or any other team in the East has to square off against superior competition to win.

To answer your second question, divisions aren't the issue for two reasons, one, you stated there would be a random schedule meaning the quality of your division has no bearing on the quality of your schedule, and two, it is the strength of conferences which determine who you play in the playoffs, which is of the utmost importance.

No offence taken, though I disagree with the premise.

Do we, by the way, have any willing Western Conference teams? Preferably in the Central.

ughh... I hate the idea of having this conversation every year.

Harder? Funner? be the better team, you'll win if that's the case. Unless you believe in Karma...

For this to make any sense at all it would have to work out as

Ex.

Ottawa(Me) becomes Carolina .
Dolomite becomes Ottawa.
Washington(Kareem) becomes Nashville.
Nashville(Mik) becomes Washington.

Northeast weakened.
Southeast slightly weaker
Central stronger

all this stuff is based off speculations* and some GM personal interests.
This alone would be enough for that not to make any sense.
When you add all the useless confusion it brings it becomes just retarded.

*who says the central is gonna suck in the future? it was a weak division this year, but i doubt it will be next season already.. there will be worse divisions soon without adding a top team to it.

besides, if now Kareem is allowed to escape the tougher conference and Billy to escape the tougher division, how would you prevent any other team from doing the same in the future? cause you know similar unbalances will arise in the future as well..

someone needs to go into the central divison in the west. imo COL, VAN and soon to be Minny is a decent conf, LAK, SJS makes the Pacific competitive but the Central is ubber weak. IMO this should balance out after a couple years. Kareen often points out alot of this league is based on GM quality differences I think its more compete level differences. If people would stive to be better instead of content to always wait another year the west would be alottttt stronger.

i would be hard pressed to guess if in the (not distant) future a combo of COL, VAN, MIN will be better than STL, NSH, CHI.. then you are left with CGY+EDM Vs CLB+DET.
I fail to see major differences in the two divisions moving forward.
It's just speculation anyway..

You are on crack...

Anyways, something has to give. The top 5 teams in the East (WSH, NJD, BOS, TBL, TOR) are arguably better than any team in the West, certainly moreso than anyone not named COL & LAK...Moving WSH to the East balances those odds, though IMO it still isn't enough, but certainly far more balanced than what we currently have.

Of course you do, the West is a joke right now, ergo why you are in the Western Conference Finals, why possible motivation could you have for wanting to change that?

You yourself told me on MSN, that most of the team in the league, especially in the West had no hope if improving, and now they are suddenly going to compete with the East in the not too distant future? I call BS, the West is a joke, and the East is way to strong, the solution is very simple...

What? I never once said ANYTHING about referring to any team in the West. All I said is those in the bottom are so far away from the rest of the league. I never once said "especially in the West". Don't put words in my mouth.

Show me how COL, VAN and MIN are not comparable to STL, NSH and CHI? I never said they are even, I said comparable in the future.

The solution is simple, you're a fucking baby and if you don't get your way you cry until somebody listens.

Of course switching a great team from the East for a weak team in the West will help even out conferences. And don't you think if somebody like Kyle made the request for this and it's parity it would be granted? Your reputation for being a baby with these outbursts is the reason nobody cares or feels bad for you because oh my god, your team is so good but you'll never win because of Scott in the East.

You're only buddies with somebody when you want them on your side with something.

I'm done with you. Get somebody else to make your banners and keep your lame pick.

Suck it up princess and go fuck yourself.

We were never buddies, we are online acquaintances, nothing more, nothing less. I never once "buddied up" with you to get you to side with me on anything or to get banners. So please, get over yourself, I don't give two shits if you are "done with me" or not, frankly there was never anything to begin with, and it's sad that you think otherwise of me, or anyone else here.

Back onto the real topic of conversation, If Kyle wants to move to the West, not only do I support it, I recommend it. A powerful team needs to be swapped to even out the conferences, if I am the one being a baby, than why is that none of the Weak teams in the West want this to happen? The answer is very simple...

easy guys...

no need to have an online fight every single off-season. Kareem at this point most of us are clearly more then online acquaintances... and speaking to each other in such a rude manner should have stopped by now. This isn't hf-boards or some other online forum, this is a group of 30 higher-interest hockey 'buddies' running a ridiculously deep keeper league... and we've all said where in this for the long haul, let's keep that in mind.

With all due respect to Kareem...whether you played Scott in Eastern semis or the league finals, you lost and lost bad. It's not a product of your conference. The league title goes through Scott whether you're in his conference or not.

That being said...I think we've got a fairly balanced league that doesn't need any massive tweeks. Yes, the Rangers who finished 9th in the East would've been 6th in the West but there's always a year where some team could say, "if I was only in the other conference, I'd be in the playoffs". Bill would've been 10th in the West if was still St. Louis with how many points he had...finished 10th in the East with Ottawa.

I can understand Kareem's beef but why should he move? Who really should have the authority to say their team should move to another division or conference? Good teams will succeed in either conference and bad teams will be bad in either conference. Play with hand you're dealt and be as competitive as you can and do what you feel is best for your team. As far as teams getting into the playoffs this year...only one team missed because of conference strength or imbalance. If you ranked the top 18 teams in our league, each conference would have 9 teams each.
