I've only read about one at C4.
Its not even any other player in I think 24 other rinks that isn't an injury, only Bell center, Nassau, Pepsi center and 3 others have those middle stantions. But I hope Max has a speedy recovery, forget about hockey just in his life in general, thats a very scary injury.

just watched a biker hit the back of a car, frigging awesome,flipped up onto trunk and was clearly in some discomfort... would have been more discomfort if the fucker had hit my car
... I don't see how that play is any different from flipping a guy into the bench, or tossing his body firmly into the glass for a big impact hit... Luke, and Dion do more malicious hits then that basically every game.

he identified a vulnerable player and threw his head into a glass partition causing him to break his neck. im not sure what else needs to be said.
i dont mean to be so frank, but people over-analyzing this are ridiculous. what i said above is the fact of the matter. how do you NOT give him a lengthy suspension. media outlets outside TSN are going to eat the NHL alive for this one if he gets off easy.

National Hockey League Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations Mike Murphy today issued the following statement on Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara’s hit in NHL game #996 last night against the Montreal Canadiens:
“I conducted a hearing with Boston Bruins’ defenseman Zdeno Chara with respect to the major penalty for interference and game misconduct that he was assessed at 19:44 of the second period for a hit on Max Pacioretty of the Montreal Canadiens.
“After a thorough review of the video I can find no basis to impose supplemental discipline. This hit resulted from a play that evolved and then happened very quickly—with both players skating in the same direction and with Chara attempting to angle his opponent into the boards. I could not find any evidence to suggest that, beyond this being a correct call for interference, that Chara targeted the head of his opponent, left his feet or delivered the check in any other manner that could be deemed to be dangerous.
“This was a hockey play that resulted in an injury because of the player colliding with the stanchion and then the ice surface. In reviewing this play, I also took into consideration that Chara has not been involved in a supplemental discipline incident during his 13-year NHL career.”

Looks like the NHL viewed it like me.
No suspension. Though I thought they may have given a small 2 or 3 gamer just because it may have been a big late resulting in a fairly serious injury.

I agreed. There was no head hunting.. just simple interference that turned out to be a very bad collision. Terrible tragedy. I hope Max P will be ok.

Oh i don't know, his arm was def to high in that situation, but not intentional by the looks it happened really quick, guaranteed if Cooke did something like that he would get 10 games.

This could get very interesting. Montreal media will go INSANE! I wouldn't dare wear my Bruins jersey in Montreal the rest of this season...thats for sure.
the puck is down at the opposite blue line. chara has already made contact and impeded his progress, then as they get towards the glass divider, he gives him the extra shove.
i want to rip my ears off listening to the bruins colour guy try and justify this...i mean, seriously.

EDIT AGAIN lol: Does anyone think that if the roles were reversed and PK Subban had hit Cambells kid into the board and broke his neck, there would have been a suspension? Chara is looking at the puck as he finishes the check... your assuming vicious intent which he has no history of, and is not showing any of the typical body signs for... his intent likely begins and ends with finishing his check hard, which is one of the traits that make him a perennial Norris candidate. Terrible, travesty of an outcome, but a hockey play.

One of my main issues with the NHL is the fact that they suspend people based off their name. It shouldn`t matter that Chara is a superstar.
If it was a player not considered to be a superstar laying that hit on Pax we most likely would have seen a suspension. I could be wrong of course, but I don`t think so.
Oh well, I just hope Pax is OK and has a full recovery. Would hate to see his career over because of an incident like this.
