I am still all for the 16-0-0 system. The races at the end of the season were great.

is he given the chance to re-do the pick or is that pick lost as a result?
define non-eligible?

Suppose in the waiver draft someone picks a player whose rights are already held by another team..

and also, what if such team didn't have that prospect (not available on CBS) listed on its board at the time he gets called in the draft?

Word.

Only recently did Scott point out that someone on my list was already on a team - guess what? Nowhere to be found. Not on CBS, not in the previous draft, not a spreadsheet/roster page, nothing. I was told that that GM just inherited that player ... Huh? Seriously, WTF.

FIX IT!!

Annoying that guys are not updating their sub forums eh?

As for the guy you wanted and I point out isn't available.. CBS only adds players to their database at a very slow pace, not as they're drafted or whatnot.. but I did insert a placeholder on the team that owns him (Jake Gardiner is on Anaheim's CBS page). Unfortunately, if you want to know 100% who is owned in our league you'll have to go team by team or bug the shit out of Kareem to make some sort of list with every eligible player (he has one that is pretty much the best of the best available right here guys http://www.bbklhockey.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3 )

Not to be an ass, but once the league can not provide accurate lists of all the players owned by each team, i think GMs should be able to re-do a misfired pick at least once per draft.

Even if i had the time, how could i compile accurate lists when i don't know if teams' rosters are up to date and, more importantly, if every owned player is listed as such or instead someone is missing?

CBS is 100% up-to-date with everyone owned.. the only players that won't be there will be from the picks just before yours lol

How so? some prospects are not there on CBS even if they are owned in our league.. Brendan Smith being just the last example i noticed.

Do you know how many players are eligible for this league, in some capacity or another? Over a thousand...It's not easy work, if you have a problem with the way it's being handled volunteer to help, rather than knowcking those of us who sacrifice our own time to get things as up to date as possible. Perhaps then some of you wont be so pissy...

we never ran into problems with people picking players already owned.. why would we run into this now? if anything its easier this year opposed to last. like msp said, if your waiting upon a 1000+ list of player names, by all means fly 'atter.

dude, it's still a game.. realism is a good thing only until it doesn't go against the fun this game is supposed to bring.
Imho, having every week several days that will matter nothing at all for many GMs won't contribute to their fun and keeping up the interest..

i think you have a good point suggesting that winning or losing the matchup should count, cause it's both realistic and fun, but taking away the points coming out of single stats wins would lead to a lot of early yawns.

i disagree... i think the proposed system would make the race much much closer...

looks like i was not able to explain myself properly.

I am not asking for you guys to do even more work, as i'm not asking for a bigger list of the available players.

I was just asking for the benefit of re-doing a pick during the draft as i thought there were no guarantees every owned player
is listed by the teams.
I must say on this point i'm still really confused:
Raptactics wroteCOLON CBS is 100% up-to-date with everyone owned.. the only players that won't be there will be from the picks just before yours lol
Raptactics wroteCOLON Unfortunately, if you want to know 100% who is owned in our league you'll have to go team by team..
so, what i get out of these two quotes (correct me if i am wrong) is CBS does list everyone (except for the guys just drafted in real world, which is no problem) but the research function won't show everyone.
IF this is the case, i think it would still make kind of unrealistic to expect GMs to check a prospect availability going through 30 different team pages every time they are not able to find out through the search function. Am i wrong?
facey wroteCOLONas we've said a couple of times... his name is simply in there backwards...

i didn't know about this..
however, i do see Brendan Smith is there on NJ roster, but i still can't find him through the search.. i mean, not even trying with smith brendan or such.. so i guess i'm missing the trick.
Besides, from what raptactics wrote above, i understand not every prospects can be found through the search function anyway (not even with backwards tries).. so wouldn't this still leave the room for people trying to draft prospects that are actually already owned by someone else?

i really don't want to piss you off guys, i hope here i was able to clarify that..
even if suggesting the chance of re-doing a pick per draft, i'm just asking for your help. And i apologize if i'm being a deadhead on this subject.

Peace.

it was coming off as if you were telling us to fix this...

regarding the search -> i've been asking for a while that everyone has a thread in their team forum simply containing all their players names... this allows for bbkl search

here is mine: http://www.bbklhockey.com/viewtopic.php ... 2536#p2536 (just updated it)... its super easy... on the cbs site->myteam->spreadsheet->control_C->bbkl->teamsubforum->newthread/postreply->control_V

edit: this doesn't work for guys who we've talked about too much (ie crosby) his name appears too often... but for obscure prospects that you are not sure of their location, it works just fine ;)

note: it does not search the contends of spreadsheet, or account for typo's. as per mis-picks... if your guy in previous selected/owned you'll be given the chance to repick, but the spot is not held for you (ex. @17 u pick someone who was already picked, who-ever has 18/19/20 can pick, and you no longer have priority over them... your pick becomes an at any time before end of round/reasonable time period pick)

I kind of agree with Kyuss, if a mistake is made a repick should be granted. Not really that big of a deal.
