Not a chance.
We need 2 more 1st line players.
We need a system
something Wilson doesn't have in place - at least not a working system
Bruch Boudreu has one of the best defensive systems in the league - i wish Wilson would take notes when we play the caps
hmm? Not sure if serious? He has tried to implement this system this year and it took up to now for them to start understanding it, really, but I am curious as to where you get Boudreau has one of the best defensive systems in the league theory?

Last year i thought the caps had one of the worst defensive systems in the league
But if you watch their games this year they are very consistant....other than Green they don't have a super star (shut down) dman but yet the Defensive core plays a very simple - 'get the puck out game'
I've been a fan from what i've seen this year from the caps

Yea, they are for sure going with a new system and it seems it is finally starting to come around. This could explain the drops in offensive output from Green and OV. The run and gun style didnt work so well ...

It would be his way of admitting the trade was a mistake. It would go a long way with myself and many leaf fans I know. You are totally right though there is no chance that he actually goes and makes that move!
We (leaf fans) are stuck with the Tissue for the next few seasons and probably longer (unless he demands a trade).
It would be better for the Leafs to trade away their most talented player and sniper...
cause he brings so much to this team right kareem? What does he do for us when he is going on his 7 - 8 game scoreless droughts? A whole bunch of fucking nothing.
take his dick out of your mouth and wake up. Kessel blows.
Im probably the biggest Leaf hater in this league to be honest with you. No ones despises them more than me but you all are ragging on Kessel WAYYY to hard. The fact is Kessel is one of the most talented goal scorers in the league. But whos setting him up? A bunch of hackjobs they call hockey players. Kessel goes from having a world-class setup man like Savard to absolute garbage centers (by comparison to Savard) in Toronto.
No one on the team can keep up with him which kills his game. Kessel's game is all about speed and when his setup man cant keep up Kessel isnt effective. Dont rag on Kessel, rag on the complete and utter lack of top end talent to play with Kessel.
The problem isnt Kessel, its the rest of your so called "hockey team"...if you can even call them one!
FYI Leafs suck Leafs suck Leafs suck Habs rule Leafs suck Leafs suck Leafs suck.

which is why kessel is and will always be a complimentary player. Was one of burkes most idiotic moves in his GM career that I can think of.

I'm just happy you don't work in the front office for the leafs, you don't have a strong grasp on the sport at all. The true irony in all of this, is that you bitched about how we should have signed Kovy all summer.

Kovalchuk is twice the player Kessel is.

He might be 3x.
Kessel is wicked-quick and has a shot, seriously nasty release. Kovalchuk is a better skater and has a better shot... on top of that he is a truly elite stick-handler, has an elite one-timer, is HUGE; he's one of the few one-man offences in the NHL... I'd rather Kovalchuk to Kessel 7 days a week and twice on Saturday night.

My grasp on the sport is just fine.
You need to reevaluate your own grasp on the sport if you think burke shouldn't have gone after kovy in the offseason. 6.6 mill per year? One of the better contracts around kareem.
Go back to watching soccer.

Reading comprehension is a myth these days...I was referring to this specific quote,
cause he brings so much to this team right kareem? What does he do for us when he is going on his 7 - 8 game scoreless droughts? A whole bunch of fucking nothing.
Kovalchuk is the same, one dimensional, worst defensively at the same stage (if you can believe that) and prone to the same 7-8 game scoreless droughts, alebit not as many, but the exact same type of player nonetheless. Yet you complained all summer that the leafs management were inept for showing no interest in him, but in the same breath target Kessel as a player who is not only ineffective, but unfit to contribute on this team...Can't have it both ways chief (note->pun intended).

He is not 3X the player...That is just being silly, in fact this season they have the exact same point production, the only difference is that Kessel is 4 years younger and playing with Crabb and Bozak.
Kovalchuk is a better player, but to give him the outright edge in skating and shot is unfair, it is highly debatable and far from fact one way or the other. You also failed to mention that Kessel is a better passer, and a superior defensive player at the same stage of development (which is sad, but true).

I don't think their shot is close... very very comparable wrister on the rush, but Kovy owns the rest of the arsenal that Phil simply hasn't shown.
Regarding skating, they are very similar, except Kovalchuk has the ability to go threw guys and shake of checks due to his size, and his balance is in another world from Phil's.... hence, better skater.
Although I agree that at same age Kovy was less developed and committed defensively... he was also winning scoring titles and hitting up the league for 50 goals... and he's fully capable of standing up for himself, and despite the media comments, when I watch him play I see a player that cares.

That is a fair argument, although I still disagree on the wrister it is a valid argument overall.

He really has just gone hot and cold throughout his career; this is him hot. Complete game changer, can make something out of nothing and must simply be terrifying to dmen.
