Kareem, it's the classic "what have you done for me lately" or "flava of the week" syndrome.

My prediction for Stamkos: 55G, 50A (105 PTS)
this year:

Stamkos: 55+ Goals, 120+ points
Ovechkin 50+ Goals, 110+ points
Crosby 50+ Goals 110+ points
Hank/Dank 110+ points

lol one team has 4 out the 5 there...
LOL at Crosby scoring as much as OV, and Stamkos scoring more. Do you watch hockey?
remember this conversation at the end of the year when stamkos wins the rocket and art ross. and yes common logic says ov will score more than crosby. but i still say crosby will score close to/almost as many. and i think stamkos is proving his goal scoring ability can go toe to toe with ovechkin. just remember this conversation in april.

This talk is retarded.

What have you done for me lately at its finest.

Last year/before this season ... this was Backstrom being looked at as "as good as Crosby/Ovechkin?"

lol there is a difference between backstrom and stamkos. and this is not what have you done for me lately at all. it more of a prelude to what stamkos is capable of imo. its different than say gaboriks torrid start last season when he was leading the league in points at a certain point in time. we all knew gabby was good and could score goals better than almost anyone. but never ov/crosby good not even close. stamkos is making a case for himself in that conversation. this year is his unless crosby/ov decide to go insane (very possible) but stamkos is going to be right there all the way.

I still think backstrom is highly under rated in the NHL. No one give him the credit he deserves because of Ovy. It's understandable, its ovy, but at the same point in time this kid is a dynamic player that can carry a line by himself.

As for stamer, I think he can outscore crosby and ovy as well. I pick him over both of them on the Oct 7 th deadline for my money hockey pool. Why you ask? Msl, Vinny, Gange etc. He has all the tools and unteachable chem with msl. Do I think he is a better player not close, do I think he will have higher point totals when their careers are over, no. I just think he will rip shit up before msl starts his decline. I don't see the gap as larger though, 5points tops.

My prediction:
Stamkos 60G 55A for 115p

This isn't a what have you done for me lately thing for all of us, I picked him over the big two at the start of the season. So say what ya want but some of us have felt this way for a long time.

Hang on. I am not and did not say stamkos > ovy/ sid. At anything other then hid 1 timer that would be untrue.

But he is in the best situation. Msl, vinny, gagne, downie, kubina, even hedman seem to gel with Steven and the new tbl system. They use each other very well.

Sid has no one, but is still in rhe argument , this is insanity.

Ovy has a team devoted to him, but the system and players are not on the same level as the help stamkos works with.

This is all in regards to offense btw.

Teams adapting to Steven is what will slow him down, as he's not getting a bunch of lucky points ( though puck luck is present).

exactly no one is saying stammer is better than sid or ov. we are simply saying that we think his goal/point totals will be higher this year. in the playoffs id still take sid/ov in a heartbeat. but this is just regular season talk.

You are all idiots...But rather than waste energy debating this further, I challenge one or all of you to put your draft picks where your mouth is. I will bet anyone a 2nd rounder in 2010 that Ovechkin finishes with more goals than Stamkos barring injury. Anyone...

I hate this argument, OV put up the same dominant numbers when he was alone, once his supporting cast grew he only put up marginally better numbers. Great players can score alone, just look at Kessel, who isnt even on the same playing field as the afformentioned guys.
facey wroteCOLONOvy has a team devoted to him, but the system and players are not on the same level as the help stamkos works with.
The stats clearly prove otherwise...The Capitals top end talent and depth are superior to anything the Lightning have to offer: Nicklas Backstrom, Alex Semin, Brooks Laich, Mike Knuble, Tomas Fleischmann, Eric Fehr, Mike Green and John Carlson...OV is the better player, and has the better supporting cast, for you not to dismiss the potential of Stamkos hitting 164 as a third year player implies that you think he is a better player than either OV or Sid, as neither have come close to touching that mark in their 5 year careers, and likely never will.

i dont have any picks in 2011-2013 LOL. but i would love to make a bet. ill be you my 2014 1st round pick (since its far away) for your 2014 1st round pick + 2nd round pick (i want odds) and we can ship it to each other once next season starts because that is when it will be legal. BUT both stamkos' and Ovechkin's GP must be within 5 of each other or less. i.e. 82 to 77 or 71 to 66 for example. deal?

i think you will be pleasantly surprised by how good the guy on your team really is. he's going to thank gary roberts in his speech when he wins the rocket/hart/art ross.

I've been watching Stamkos since he was 16...Nothing he does surprises me, and I certainly hope he doesn't hit your projections, otherwise my cap is going to be fucked next season.
