Thats an awesome story, I wish I could meet the Leafs.Florida Chris wroteCOLONMy favorite team is the Leafs, followed closely by Edmonton.
But most of all I am just a huge huge fan of hockey. I can watch a Mtl Vs Buf (most hated teams) with a smile on my face...
I have talked to some of you about this, but my real passion is the OHL, and NCAA. I have season tickets to my Soo Greyhounds, and try to get across and watch as many Lake Superior States hockey games as possible.
Some know, most don't (most won't believe me anyway) but a couple of my very close friends play in the NHL, and have had the privilege of having a few relatives past and present playing in the NHL...Needless to say I've spent many hours and hours talking hockey (usually around the table drinking some beers) with some fanatic hockey minds, and growing up as a child I thought I was the luckiest kid alive. What really turned me on as a maple leafs fan was when I was a child, getting to go into the dressing room and meet the leafs..One of the highlites of my life.

Damn Chris, thats amazingFlorida Chris wroteCOLON I shouldn't of said anything really, I keep my family details pretty quite, Pm if you really need to know. I have a couple of buddies who I know well and they won't care. Marty Turco and former NHL'ers Chris Simon, Denny Lambert are good friends, and won't care if I let you know. I know a few others, but they are more private.

Pretty awesome. I was about to PM you anyway about it .Florida Chris wroteCOLONLol, ok I got 6 pms wanting to know...So I really don't like advertising this, and started replying with the below response, but don't feel like doing it 10 times. So just don't ask me to send you a autograph, because it won't happen...lol
My uncle married a girl, and her sister(Janis unfortunately passed away from cancer not too long ago) was married to Mike Foligno. I got double lucky when my uncle married my aunt, because her uncle is HHOF'er Eddy Giacomin (wonderful guy to talk old schood hockey with) . I suppose I said they were relatives, they are not blood relatives, but damm close. We did however get together several times a year for family gatherings. I know Nick and Marcus pretty well, as they are 1st cousins to my 1st cousins. My uncle owns a cottage a few doors down from my parents place, and the Foligno's always spend a few weeks their every Summer. Drank plenty of beers and played lots of soccer with them. When I was somewhere around 12 or something like that, my family went to Toronto for a family trip, and while we were there Mike took us out for supper. He hooked us up with tickets, and my dad, and my 2 brothers and sister, were invited to the dressing room before the game. I have a poster that is signed by all the leafs, and we got a bunch of other stuff, I wish I still had.
I have 2 cousins who are also involved in the game...
Lou Nanny used to be the general manager with Minny years ago....Now there is a guy to sit and talk hockey with....
Paul Theriault is now just recently out of the game, but was a coach in the OHL, assistant coach in the NHL, and coached in Europe for years..just had a hour or so long talk over a few pops this past weekend...Another great hockey mind.
