Ive learned it is quite hard to miss gp. I only had like 15/18 players each week playing regularly and still hit gp.

Re: CAR #202 for 2017 picks
You can hit GP reqs with 14 players playing 82 games a season. The problems arise when you only get 3 players playing 82 games a year, as Paul did last year. Paul barely made GP last year with 1128 skater GP.

I'm more mad that an NHLer apparently doesn't warrant a 7th round pick. Sure, market dictates value and if no one wants to pay a 7th, that's fine. But to decline an NHLer in favour of a bottom 10 2017 7th round draft pick on a team that barely made GP?
I really hope that the currently CC controlled Hurricanes make GP next year.

He's not an NHLer for sure this year. He's a fringe guy and they could be out of the show at any time. Carolina needs as many picks as possible, even if they are bottom of the barrel picks.Lee wroteCOLONNo, I'm not even mad that members the CC are attacking me, as you are now.Arian The Insider wroteCOLONYou're mad that not even the CC wants your scrub?Lee wroteCOLONYou're assuming he makes it to waiver period.

The fact is, not a single GM has had interest in moving even a 7th rounder for Peluso, indicating there's no market for him at this moment. Nobody wants to buy fringe players at this point in the off season. He could be more valuable in season when injuries occur or teams are short some players. Sorry the CC doesn't want to give you a 7th for a player you're going to waive anyways.
Re: CAR #202 for 2017 picks
I'll make some moves before I lose an NHL asset for nothing.

CC will vote at the appropriate time for the best offer, we get about 5 regular CC'ers on here most days so it'll be a strong showing on the vote.

Re: CAR #202 for 2017 picks
The fact that no teams with GMs wants Lee's player right now shouldn't dictate CAR's interest in him. If we follow this logic the CC would be okay with using more than a 7th rounder later in the offseason when the market prices dictate Peleuso is worth more than a 7th? I'd say easily that Lee's is the best offer and that it makes sense for a CAR team that has a lot of question marks already in its roster. I would trade for Peleuso myself if I had room.Arian The Insider wroteCOLONHe's not an NHLer for sure this year. He's a fringe guy and they could be out of the show at any time. Guys complain that teams like Mike, Steve, Hong and Mik have too much depth and its bad for the league but no one will pay a 7th round pick for a guy who plays in the NHL even if he's a not an everyday player...

Re: CAR #202 for 2017 picks
this is why the general public needs read only access to cc forums. I'd really enjoy seeing how you can justify a team that barely made gp take on a 7th round pick instead of an active nhler.
Re: CAR #202 for 2017 picks
are we trying to find a replacement GM for Carolina, by the way??
Re: CAR #202 for 2017 picks
My issue is I don't think he will play at all with Laine coming next season unless there are injuries to two RWs, I see him as someone very likely to be waived and no other NHL team will touch him. Couple that with the fact that he would be 10th or 11th on CAR's depth chart for Ws depending on if you rank Bernier ahead of him and you have a situation where at least to me the pick Mik offered seems more valuable then a guy who in all likelihood is on his way out of the NHL since he isn't very good IMO.
There is likely going to be fringe guys like that available on waivers to start the season, I lost Taylor Chorney for example last year and he played more than Peluso. If CAR needs fringe guys who might see the ice with multiple injuries he can get them for free off waivers without losing a pick. He also already has a bunch of fringe guys that he will need to expose to waivers so adding Peluso means that's one less guy he can keep on his bench.
As for Lee's comment, my offer is beaten and I won't be making another. We also have had zero discussions about it in the CC since there could still be more offers. All you have to do is look at CAR to see that Peluso wouldn't help though.

HE LIKELY ISN"T AN ACTIVE NHLER!!!Lee wroteCOLONthis is why the general public needs read only access to cc forums. I'd really enjoy seeing how you can justify a team that barely made gp take on a 7th round pick instead of an active nhler.
Playing last year doesn't guarantee he plays this year nor does a 1 way contract. Sorry it's just getting frustrating having your argument being that he is not taking an NHLer for a late pick. At least say the possibility of an NHLer since him playing is possible but FAR from a guarantee. If you asked any Jets fan, I don't think you would find one who has him penciled into the starting lineup.
Laine Little Wheeler Perreault Schiefele Ehlers Connor Petan Armia Dano Stafford Copp Burmi Thorburn Lowry it would take a lot of injuries to get Peluso playing.
Re: CAR #202 for 2017 picks
history dicates that peluso is an nhler.

Re: CAR #202 for 2017 picks
And in your unbiased opinion he is not an NHLer despite all evidence to the contrary
Re: CAR #202 for 2017 picks
What evidence?
What NHL forwards is he going to play ahead of out of the ones I listed? You can call him a guy who played in the NHL in the past if you want to talk about history but you have given no evidence he is an active NHLer in the future.

Re: CAR #202 for 2017 picks
The evidence that he has been an NHLer the last 3 years.
The evidence that he is signed for another year on a one way contract.
It's not like we are going to agree here, so we can keep arguing if you like. Based on the last 3 years, Peluso will probably end up playing 40 ish games. It may not be worth it to your team in your position, but if you think it's not worth a 7th round pick to a team like Carolina, who is going to struggle again to meet GP, then you are simply out of touch with what it's like to be a bottom 5 team in this league. You haven't been there. I have.
