You seriously think Frans Neilsen's going to play a significant role on the Island while the team gets better? I don't.. the guy's basically a 4th liner. You talk about Ehrhoff's role possibly diminishing. well, I'll say that it's quite possible Nielsen gets the same treatment! Now, I like Rafalski but before last season people would've thought he was a lock for 55 points and what did he end up with? 42! To me, he's getting older and diminishing himself.. Ehrhoff even at 30-35 points per season for the next 9-10 years or Rafalski at 40-45 for the next 2-3? Also, I can't see Ballard taking Ehrhoff's PP time and when Bieska gets moved Ehrhoff keeps his PK time and his minutes increase.. again, imo!

Neilson doesn't even come close to replacing Bolland.

however, i still don't see it as being too lopsided (this deal)...i'd give the edge to Frank, that being said...if Elliott shits the bed or is the backup this deal really blows for Shiv.

mark my words scott, Nielsen is a SOLID 3rd liner. Bolland is a borderline 2nd liner which is why he's better. But Nielsen can be mentioned in the same breath and not be out of place. just watch. and btw while you were quoting rafalskis down year, the entire red wings roster was wondering why you didnt mention them either. wings will take the presidents trophy this year.

and you just conceded a very important point: rafalski can be better than ehrhoff for the next 3 years. if that wins me a championship, this trade is a SMALL price to pay.

as far as mentioning kicking your ass is concerned lol i get a kick out of it. you get all riled up about how good your team is (which it is lol its the team to beat and im doing my best to create a roster that can take it down). bolland + ehrhoff with a marginal bench could have easily failed. this trade gives me avenues to be more competitive.

Maybe in the fact that I'm the reigning champ, sure.. but I feel there's a few teams that are better then me this season and the competition is certainly getting better. I just find it funny that you only makes comments about beating them or kicking their ass to me.. not that I care, I take it as a comliment and view it like you're my little brother trying to live up to my expectations.. it's almost cute

Yeah, have to agree with you Nick... Possibly just mad that they didn't get certain people involved in the deals? I went after a few parts of that trade, and I also contacted the new owners about certain players that were moved.

I'm licking my deal more and more by the day. I just believe that Elliot is the only one that makes the deal better for Pittsburgh. But I get for sure stud. Bolland and Ehrhoff will get a bigger role. I even believe Ehrhoff will get arround 60pts and Bolland will get more pts sine he's now healthy. So I see him getting arround 50+pts on the 2nd line of Chicago.

double note (what does this mean!!!): I think I like the deal for Frank, but mostly because I think the sens are shittier then other people think they are, and that the Wings are on the downhill slide, less so because I think he got big impact players.

the funny thing they project Ehroff for a 60pts season. What I think is 55pts+ for sure.
