I'd rather D'Amigo make the team over Kadri at this point..
..But that's only because I just acquired him

Re: R.O.Y. thoughts
you guys suck at naming the not obvious selections.
Lets see who can call Howard being a nominee, or Myers, Versteeg... the NOT OBVIOUS guys.

That's one of my picks to, McBain's gonna be a rock in Carolina imo..
Re: R.O.Y. thoughts
technically not considered a rookie, but im expecting big things from my boy Colin Wilson this season.
Re: R.O.Y. thoughts
I'll be surprised if the ROY this season won't come out of this trio:
MSP
MZA
OEL
and even if it's hard to distinguish between wishful thinking and real beliefs, M.Johansson and Goncharov are two guys i feel like have the potential to get in the mix. At least, that's why they are on my team i guess..

LOL... no euro bias there at all eh Kyuss?
Re: R.O.Y. thoughts
well, we will see if that's the case (this is with reference to the top 3 i mentioned, my other 2 guys are obviously longshots to even earn consideration).facey wroteCOLONLOL... no euro bias there at all eh Kyuss?
Actually, i would be happy to be wrong and see a 18yrs old Canadian outplay all those 3 guys, cause it would very probably mean we would have something special in our hands (the ones of hockey fans).
Re: R.O.Y. thoughts
bump for fun.
I'd say Couture & Skinner are probably favs atm but still tons of season to go!

Re: R.O.Y. thoughts
Shattenkirk & Fowler need to be in that discussion as well... both over 20min per game and already earned #1 PP on their respective clubs. and putting up serious points from the back end. Aside from the #'s both have looked unreal.
Not to be a huge own-player plugger, but Hall has been awesome the past 2 weeks, 6 goals, 2 of the game winning variety in his last 8 games... up to #2 for rookie goals... and was 3rd star in the NHL last week. If his play from the past month continues he'll walk into the award.
Couture as current ROY, but its far from locked up. Carlsson's play of late has dipped IMO.

I definitely think Hall is turning the corner but IMO, Couture and his current linemates are playing too insane right now. I can't see them slowing down.

Re: R.O.Y. thoughts
Nick, Carlon's best game of the season was a few days ago...Near 25 minutes, with a ton of ES and STHOI played. He has been exceptionally reliable since, averaging around 20+ minutes a night on a team that is top 3 in hockey.
As for predictions, I think Hamonic is going to make a dent when all is said and done.

Re: R.O.Y. thoughts
I agree with your Carlson assessment thus far. The kid's logging huge minutes and doesn't look out of place at all. Sometimes they even play Carlson over Green on the PP (injuries, not offensively where he should be). Carlson's play has been getting better lately if you ask me.. and I watch a TON of Caps games.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONNick, Carlon's best game of the season was a few days ago...Near 25 minutes, with a ton of ES and STHOI played. Re: R.O.Y. thoughts
couldn't agree more Kareem. Carlson has also been used in a shut down role on many occasions, his defensive game has been far above fowler or shattenkirks. I think there are three favorites then a large gap right now. Things change but as of now it has to be between Shattenkirk/Carlson/Couture.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONNick, Carlon's best game of the season was a few days ago...Near 25 minutes, with a ton of ES and STHOI played. Re: R.O.Y. thoughts
You know what I take what I said before back, there really isn't a gap, IMO. There are too many players that are very close right now, some are more impressive than others, but it's not a big difference: Couture, Skinner, Carlson, Fowler, Ennis, Hall, Shattenkirk etc. There is a big race this season.bryshook wroteCOLONcouldn't agree more Kareem.
