Lol, nah, not getting pissy. Just general observations. As much as his "competition" may hate it they guy deserves some credit...

Staal is potentially the best player in the deal. Scott gets a very solid young defenseman in return and gets a year-to-year player in Selanne. The kicker is obviously the first round pick and depending on where that pick ends up, that's a very nice get for Scott. The Ducks are a playoff team out of the West so it's not like the pick will be in the top 14...it'll be mid-to-late in the first. It don't think it's as bad as it seems...Scott still gave up a very good player in the deal but got 3 pieces in return.

Priority list:
a) Stop the cock-sucking, its gross.

b) Calling Staal a purely-defensive d-man doesn't sit with me.

c) Saying Letang<->Staal is a swap that would work shows where the GM is that Scott can actually take advantage of, at least in terms of sure things & improving his roster w/o losing assets

I gave up the best player, end of story.. potentially, and I repeat potentially, Letang could catch up to Staal. It's the 3 other pieces that made me take the deal.. trust me, I had a TON of interest in Marc Staal..

Getting Selanne is what I think makes this a win for Scott.

hehe. The competition grins 3.25 + bonuses is a big cap hit. But he could very well be worth it. I know I hate the damn bonus parts in the cap hit. Like Recchi's cap hit is 1.95 yet he is only making 1 mil. i hate the addition of performance bonus' added to cap hits before they even reach them...How is that right? When Toews has a tiny little elc cap hit last season, yet he had all these performance bonus that the Team have to apply to there cap this upcoming season?
