Re: This Is What Happens When You Put PHI & WSH In the Same
I love how you neglect to mention that Ethan Werek was involved, but name the two useless pieces I put in the deal to improve you're GP...And heres the funny part, your counter offer was Zack Kassian...Get real dude. You've been here two days, and already half the league has soured on trading with you. You simply don't understand the trade value in this league, an 8th rounder who is blocked by 4 superior wingers, and 3 centerman is not worth alot in a trade. So what if he had a decent quarter season...So did Andrew Ebbet, you don't see me offering Zack Kassian for him. I personally think Werek alone is an overpayment, but what do I know?Kezia wroteCOLONYip for 2 30 year old dmen with 100 games experience between them and someone you've been shopping for a lot longer than I've been here and and have shown no interest in is why you have a rep for ripping guys off.

Nope, didn't forget to mention Werek at all.
Draft position 5 years ago? Zetterberg must be horrible.
Been here almost 2 week and know enough about trade value that I can get a fuck tonne more than Ethan Werek and 2 scrubs for someone who was almost as good as Bozak in his debut. He wasn't drafted at all.

I'll trade you Eric Nystrom for 4 first round picks. He was 10th overall in 2002! How about3? Ok you drive a hard bargain. 2 first round picks.
Re: This Is What Happens When You Put PHI & WSH In the Same
Yea in all honesty my plan was to throw his name out there, listen but decline any offers for him and then after three days say he is untouchable so no one should ever ask about him again lol. I just didnt want to keep getting pm's asking about him, most with insulting offers lol. Kareem killed any offer anyone else would have put out there so yea had to take it on day one.Raptactics wroteCOLONI thought 3 days? Oh well, I wasn't gonna beat that anyway.. good trade fellas!
Oh he definatly gets the best player in this trade, why else would he have given up these assets. I may not have aquired any elite level prospects or players, but I gained 5 very decent guys here and that durastically improves my depth. Also I feel Brock Nelson is legit and could become a fantasy stud in a few years. I dont actually think you are asking me to defend my side of the deal lol I am just saying if it was you that got this payoff, as a division rival, I would not be happy about it ahhaPretty lopsided for sure, but kareem didn't really give up anybody amazing, so not bad

I don't even have to respond after what you just typed, congrats buddy you have proven my point, and then some.
P.S. I got Werek three weeks ago, and never mentioned his name in a trade once since Sunday, good recon work ass packet!

Yes, because by calling out an 8th rounder as a mediocre to decent asset, I have in turn implied that all high picks are gold...You're doing a great job with first impressions.Kezia wroteCOLONI'll trade you Eric Nystrom for 4 first round picks. How about Nystrom for Kassian? Drafted higher, further along in his progression and no legal troubles.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLON

Everything you say to me has to do with how horrible his draft position was. Who gives a sweet shit where he was drafted 5 years ago? If you can't see what I was alluding to.. well.. I don't know what else to say.
Ass packet? That's new. Is that the new fad going around your junior high school?

1. Yip was an 8th rounder in his draft season, Werek was a second rounder last season, therefore Werek is more advanced at the same age.
2. Werek is bigger, stronger, more skilled and smarter at the same stage of development
3. Werek hasn't had injury issues to this point in his career.
4. Werek is not buried by: Stastny, Duchene, O'Reilly, Mueller, Stewart, Hejduk, Jones, Galiardi.
5. Yip has about one quarter of a season of production, tons of players have suceeded in a small sample size, case in point Andrew Ebbett, that doesn't suddenly ramp up their value as a bottom 6 forward.

So Jaime Devane is more advanced than Yip as well.?
2. Werek is bigger, stronger, more skilled and smarter at the same stage of development
I can name hundreds of busted draft picks. Yip is producing the the NHL right now.
3. Werek hasn't had injury issues to this point in his career.
Give him 6 years in the AHL.
4. Werek is not buried by: Stastny, Duchene, O'Reilly, Mueller, Stewart, Hejduk, Jones, Galiardi.
He also isn't making the NHL any time soon.

Who owns Bozak? I'll give them Jason Blake, who has had multiple 50+ point seasons, including a 69.

I'm not alluding to anything, I am making simplistic arguments in an attempt to be as clear as possible, but you still appear to be confused.Kezia wroteCOLONThat seems to be what you are alluding to on MSN.
Ethan Werek is a more advanced player than Brandon Yip at the same stage of development, you're comparisons to Tyler Bozak are laughable, and show zero understanding of eiter situation. Tyler Bozak grew about 4 inches and put on 30+ llbs. of weight since his draft season, and absolutely dominated the NCAA in his time with Denver, to the point where he was one of the most, if not the most highly touted NCAA FA of this decade, Yip is not in any way comparable to Tyler Bozak, just like Ethan Werek is not in any way comparable to Jamie Devane.

1. Jamie Devane is a unique example, and one that cannot be used in a comparison to Yip, he was unranked by every major resource, but Burke took him in spite of that because he fulfilled a very specific need, toughness and grit, but yes to answer your question he was more developed at the same stage. Consider that Devane was drafted in a 7 round draft, Yip went in the 8th round, meaning that had he been in Devanes draft year no one would have believed in him enough to even draft him. Easy enough to understand kiddo?
2. And I can name hundreds of NHL players who produced in a limited sample size, and went on to do nothing for the remainder of their careers.
3. When a player needs 6 seasons in the AHL, chances are they aren't that good...
4. He is about 1/2 years away, certainly not the 5/6 Yip took.
5. Bozak is a highly regarded 23 year old center who produced in a top line role against the oppositions best defenders. Jason Blake is a 36 year old forward who went undrafted as well, but without the track record, or natural skills of Bozak at the NCAA level.
Re: This Is What Happens When You Put PHI & WSH In the Same
Bozak was never drafted so yes I'd assume that he did grow 4 inches and put on 30 lbs. Did you know that Bozak had 1 better year than Yip in the BCHL? How about that Yip was better than Bozak in the NCAA? They both took the long road to the NHL. One because he had no choice, the other because he was drafted and chose to get an education. Yip played 6 games in the minors before jumping to the NHL. Bozak played 32.
Again you are using draft positon to determine a players worth and you can't understand the correlation between worth and draft positon. I was hoping that you would with the Zetterberg comparison, such as it is, but apparently not.

Bozak can only hope that he is as productive in the NHL as Jason Blake has been. Blake was 100X the player either Yip or Bozak were in the NCAA
