LOL. He started it! I just Loled at his offer. I felt bad saying that because Lee has actually improved his team a lot which is the actual barometer in this league and not the absolute value of a team.

I really don't think it was a bad offer. Koekkoek was slated to go as a later pick in the first round and was over drafted because of a run on D in that draft. He was a panic pick.

I really like what Tampa does with their prospects hence was willing to overlook that.

his stats might make him close to worth that if it wasn't for one gigantic thing:
CBS

Analysis: He has struggled this year. Earlier reports indicated he had missed time in December because of an injury, but he was actually sent to the press box by coach Randy Carlyle who wasn't happy with his compete. Right now, he's not providing much fantasy value outside of hits (73).
he doesn't always play. Hard to imagine his ice time will increase without a bunch of injuries. Adding Gleason likely means the downward trend is more likely to continue then not.

I mean, just considering for myself, i wouldn't offer a 1st rounder any year or a past 3 years of first round picked prospect who isnt in the nhl yet for ranger, it was an easy no. Thats all there is to that. I would actually want a forward for slater +

CBS is all over the place with their player evaluations. They have Tyler Johnson listed as a contender for the Calder.

He has played since being benched, and has played very well. even has a goal since coming off the bench.

The only reason why Ranger isn't worth more in BBKL is because of the logo on the front of his jersey. Which is funny because usually the Maple Leaf adds value to a player. Then again, we have a history of running some players out of town despite their contributions on the ice. And others get 7 year, 49 mil $ extensions.

I only quoted CBS as they said he had been a scratch. I wasn't using them to convey any other point then that.

Players that play well in blue and white will be over rated by leaf fans and players that don't, well, it will be the exact opposite valuation. This is true of any fan base and is why Ranger is near worthless in this league right now. He contributes in bbkl but helps pad the stats of others in real life. unfortunately for you guys, the stats he's padding are those of the opposition.

Stats are the only real thing that matter in BBKL. Everything else is fluff and conjecture.

I wouldn't trade Huberdeau for Johnson.

Stats are the second most important thing in bbkl to games played. If you don't play, you won't have stats.

Stats matter which is why Ranger has any value at all. He is better in BBKL than he is in real life <--- this poses a major threat to the BBKL owner of Ranger due to the risk attached. Eventually, the Leafs will find enough d-men so that they don't have to give Ranger minutes. Gleason is one name already. What if they land another d-man by the deadline?

If there was a guarantee that Ranger would continue to put up these stats all season, I'd be happy to pay for the BBKL rental even though I don't think Ranger is an NHLer. But there is no such guarantee.

And I will happily hold onto Ranger until a time comes that he retires or gives me what I consider fair or more than fair value back in a trade. I'm not going to under sell another of my players just for the sake of a prospect that might contribute somewhere down the road.

I'm not sure how some people think that Gleason is somehow better than Ranger, let alone the answer on the back end. He has one point in 17 games, 48 hits, 19 blocks, barely a minute on either the power play or PK, a year older than Ranger and makes 4 million a year for 2 more years past this season.

Gleason was actually solid for me last yr for some months. I believe i raped arian for it i gave him gleason for JML (ever so ironically)

But ya, u picked up ranger off of ur waiver pick so hes essentially free (my waiver tho lol) .... Why are ppl bitching about u not selling him properly for all i care he cud die on ur roster and u wouldn't lose anything technically

Fuck, if you want a comparable for Gleason, Mark fucking Fraser has comparable stats. At the low low cost of 4 million $.

Do you remember how Komisarek left town? Gleason will be lucky to have that kind of send off.

I consider Gleason a better hockey player than Ranger. His body of work only supports that. CAR barely let him play this year. Not even talking BBKL anymore. I hope for the Leafs Gleason gets back to what he was. If he does, our team will be much better off than rolling Ranger and Fraser every night.

If Gleason is what he was, I'd tend to agree. He's not shown that this year.

Non BBKL speaking, I hope he returns to form. BBKL speaking, I hope Ranger gets dealt so I can see his value be what it should be, rather than Larry Murphy-esque hate.

People need to remember that Ranger took 2 years completely away from hockey for some very serious shit. If Ranger goes back to being a 25+ point NHL dman.. you won't see him on the market for just a prospect.

Lol Paul u think u raped me? I gave you Tyler Biggs and liles for a clear cut better h2h d-man. I don't think I raped you but I see it as a clear win for me. 17 injury riddled games in and a shell of his former self in liles is better than a periph beast.. Right
