The most likely thing to happen is a MDZ slump and the Sedins regress a little... however both could easily continue to KICK ass.

however, a team like mine is much more up and down:

Does JT slump? improve? stay a 25/25 ?
Kane remains injury prone?
Phaneuf crushed under the pressure in TO or does he flourish?
Weber improves his game now that he's the C? or the expectations push him down?
Taylor Hall wins the calder? or stuggels to enter the league?
Wheeler repeats his sophomore slump or returns to rookie forum?
Jamie Benn gets the jynx or continues where he left off?
Hiller gets hurt? doesn't do well w/o fighting for a job with Giggy?

Youth is a risk !!!
I think Tavares will be on fire, Kane is up and down, Dion will flouish, Weber wil be a true stud, Hall - who knows (i'm guessing a year similar to Tavares last year) Wheeler is a pussy, Benn is a beast and Hiller is solid....you're a playoff team this year nick, probably top 7 in the East.

From what I can tell, @ least one of my players will bust, 1 will have a brutal year, but hopefully more then 1 breaks out. I pray to god its not Hiller who slumps for me. Guessing who it is, w/o specific insider character, training, injury, specific information is just guessing.

If I had to 'choose' one guy, it would be Benn who slows down a little, as @ .822 and solid non-scoring categories its no big deal; and then Fowler who breaks out and really flips the bird in the face of the 9 teams who passed on him. Oh and Johnny McFarland is my choice for the 18 year old who breaks into the league as a 2nd round pick... typically is one per year, we he'll get a shot given the rebuilding nature of the Panthers.

oh, but my real hope, is that whoever slumps is waiver exempt, so I can get their salary off the books and call up someone who is doing good work :D

the list of waiver exempt players is rather large :
Jamie Benn, Evander Kane, John Tavares, Brandon Sutter, Taylor Hall,Cam Fowler... and lots of guys waiting for their spots :p

Your crazy to think you'll have more regular season points the Kareem, his schedule is MONEY, and both HFD/BOS have kinda easy schedules... Yourself and NJD are in tough, partially because you face each other twice, but also square off versus a couple of reasonable teams that won't be blown out.

There is no Hartford in the East. If you meant me, I'm in the West. ;)

Thank you. I get you first week. And it doesnt get any easier for me as time goes on...

Question...Are we modifying the schedule to reflect recent team changes or schedule stays the same and you just face the new teams?

Why would the schedules change?

The match-ups were made w/o caring or considering who is which team. If you'd like to the see the method used to make the schedule, its apparent in the failed attempts, & I can email you the file which shows several attempts before a functional outcome was produced.

I used the following goals for the making of the schedule:

1st -> play every team in your conference once
2nd -> begin and end your season against the divisional rivals (ideally and most teams play every divisional rival twice)
3rd -> play inter-conference games where they fit, against either same opposing div or each team in your div plays a team from a diff div.

I did not make my team (the flyers at the time) any easier or more interesting then the next, in fact I didn't even start the design with the team names in place. I actually started with the plan for the west, and then applied the same mould to the east, some adjustments were required (15 teams remember, and groups of 5, they are not even #'s), and 21 weeks, however if we have more then 21 weeks its easy to add more inter-conference games.

TBH i was really happy with how they came out, and believe they'll add some intrigue throughout the course of the year, and really makes div/conference and interesting battle.

I inherited TBL schedule, Lee inherited the PHI schedule, as the division change would suggest. (ditto with ott/stl)

Nick you did a bang up job!

i went through to see what the schedule looks like, its pretty solid...i get Neel twice and Frank twice....i like creating rivarly in my own division....esp between those two guys.
Should be for some interesting (fantasy) hockey this year!

Thanks Steve, at first I thought it was rather simple and just time consuming, but after working on it, it quickly becomes apparent that due to the unequal #'s and all the bs, its rather annoying.

It didn't come out perfect, the d3 in each conference (happens to be SE & Pacific I believe) had some issues, but really is still pretty solid, particularly tricky with the middle team in each div, maxing out with t3 in d3.

What I did was try and make it simple. so w/o team names I made the 6 divisons:
c1d1t1, c1d1t2...c1d1t5
c1d2t1->c1d2t5
c1d3t1->c1d3t5
-------------------- make a schedule with these 15 teams ( 1 or 3 teams left empty)---------
then the other division
c2d1t1->c2d1t5
c2d2t1->c2d2t5
c2d3t1->c2d3t5
------------------- after doing a near identical schedule with c2 as c3, its a matter of trying to make things work--------------------

Afterwords I just wrote in the teams names as I could think of them... really scientific.... but also completely un-biased.

Anyways, its easy to add weeks as required, and we can shuffle the inter-conference games each year.

My St. Louis schedule is a lot easier than the Hartford one.

Yea, in a div with Anton, Bcool, Mik & Shoalize is a little softer then being in a div with Kyle, Chuck (wow haven't heard from him in a while), Mike, & Topher. And then the rest of the conference match-ups are a little easier as well.
