I think it was a steal for NJD for Kova's 4 prime years at that $, just sucks about the 1st round pick being given up... which I think is ridiculous. Who wouldn't give... what was it? 29M over 4 years for PRIME Kovachuk production years? You never get that chance... the whole point of the long term deals is to lessen the cap while giving the player long term security.

But I do agree... don't pay for goaltending. Burke's biggest issues were his insistence to some archaic rules and TOTALLY misjudging the team pre-kessel deal... aka mother fucking Toskola and Komi falling flat.
