Daley did that on a bad team with no other defenders that also had two of the best offensive players in the league....I would have been on pace for 50 points playing top pairing and top pp time on that team, and might have even been comparable defensively.
He wasn't top pp unit. Klingberg was. Dallas had goligoski and klingberg. Take a look at Pittsburgh's current d lineup. Pretty comparable to Dallas, and pretty bad. With 2 of the top offensively forwards just like dallas in the league too.

I like the trade for me. Not sure why everyone else seems to care.

i believe Daley will be good with the Pens. That defensive core is laughable. I dont even like Maata this year, he's looked lost.

Dubnyk has had 1 practice after missing 3 gms with groin strain. Wouldn't call him game healthy. Dubnyks nov+dec is like 930 sv percentage. So yes, you're right, keumper has finall secured t backup job over Backstrom, congrats. :)

Dubnyk's sample size is quite large enough now to call him a legit starter in the tier 2 range

Teams shouldn't be married to the idea of playing the goalie who makes the most money...see Detroit with Mrazek/Howard. Why would not play the guy who performing the best? Seems to me that you go with the hot hand. It's a long season and the last thing you want to is let a slumping goalie sink your chances at banking important points that be the difference between making the playoffs and being in the lottery.

Goalies can't have a thin skin because the moment they're "demoted", they can't become insecure and lose their edge. You want a healthy goalie competition...both guys raise each others levels of play so you have two guys you can trust. You don't want to just settle for the lesser of two evils. More and more, we're going to see 1 and 1a goalie situations because there are some really good backups out there.
