He won't be signed, no chance.

If he's signed and stays in Sweden 1 more year (which is what he wants to do) than it burns a years off his ELC regardless.
So he will re-enter the draft? If so, you have to think he is a no brainer in the top 10....

There is virtually no chance he's signed. He wants money apparently, and with the ELC year being burned, I can't see Feaster signing him.

And if he enters the draft again, he'll go top 15 for sure, more likely he goes top 10. It's not like he has severely regressed. He still is a top notch prospect.

Because he's staying in Sweden that shouldn't scare teams away as most Swedes will be there next year anyways (unless they are already in the CHL). He's also much further along in development, which should be a bonus for those looking for help asap.

This is awesome for the Leafs, just means one more prospect will be available that otherwise wouldn't.

If I were the Bruins that is who I would take at 9, no questions asked.

I don't agree with the 'no-brainer' top 10.

If he's a no brainer top 10 he'd be signed. Supposedly it's the money holding the deal up and Feaster is poised to dig his heels in and watch the kid get re-drafted. Guys who re-enter the draft clearly have some baggage, and I don't think he's done enough in the past 2 seasons (haven't followed closely) to warrant moving up 13 spots in the draft :P

I strongly disagree...

First of all, this is a shit draft, I'm tired of people painting it with a different brush. Tim Erixon is from the 09 draft which absolutely destroys the 11' class in both top end talent, and depth. A top 10 player in this class is not a top 10 player in most classes, I would go so far as to say that had Erixon been 11' eligible we would be talking about him as a potential top seven pick.

None of this is too mention that Erixon is essentially a sure fire NHL defenceman, and with three years of professional hockey under his belt. In a class where the likelihood of anyone making the NHL, particularly on D is murky, Erixon stands out as a relatively easy choice for the top 10, perhaps top 15. The only road block I foresee are concerns about the cost to bring him over to NA, which if he goes top 10 are none existent anyways.

I'm at work so I'll post a longer post after, but I essentially completely agree with Erixon.

He should be in the mix with the consensus top 5, but won't be because "re-entries" rarely get taken high.

TRADE:

Calgary Flames trade Tim Erixon & 2011 5th Round Pick to NY Rangers for Roman Horak and 2 2nd Round Picks (4th and 57th)

Apparently he signed a 3yr ELC too, but I can't find the details on that, meaning he will NOT re-enter the draft.

As I said, I read he's signed, but can't find any info on it at the moment.

Smart trade for both teams. Not losing a prospect for nothing from cgy side - 2nds isnt too much to pay for a recent 1st rounder from nyr perspective!

Big physical swede should fit in nicely with the stout backend the rangers appear to be building. Flames obviously just starting the rebuild - or mid life retooling.

Not surprising. I wish the Leafs had move two 2nds and a mid level prospect for him...

Kenny Ryan and two seconds would have gotten a deal done easily, IMO. To be fair to Burke however, we already have a ton of defensive first defenceman, so perhaps the need for Tim Erixon wasn't great.
