Mike wroteCOLONI didn't do the math, but are you familiar with our method of IR? Players on the IR still count towards your cap hit. If they are on LTIR you can select players up to the amount of the player on the IR's cap hit as replacement.
Yea, that's my intention. I'm using Huselius' cap-hit towards my own cap. Without it, I'd be below the floor. It gives me the option of moving a cheap winger or centre back to the minors when Huselius returns.

But I was under the impression you're limited to 23 roster players. So I can't go beyond that if I had Huselius on LTIR, no?

If Huselius is on the IR, you can name a replacement of equal or lesser value (in cap hit). LTIR players do not count towards the 23 player active roster limit.

Yea, I got that much from the CBA lol...

But Mike mentioned that if I put Huselius on the LTIR, I can add a bunch of players equaling up to Huselius' cap-hit, and beyond the 23 man roster limit. So I'm guessing your last sentence reaffirms what Mike was saying?

I'm just making sure my interpretation was correct.

You can exceed the 23 man roster by one if you have one player on LTIR, if I am not mistaken. So 24 players total (including LTIR player).

Yeah you can have numerous replacements if say you don't already have 23 players up.

You get an extra slot for everyone on the plain old IR as well, just no cap relief.

I figured. Looks like I'll go with that roster pending another trade to try and upgrade my centre position.

Anyone who guess the only player leftover on my NHL roster gets a 7th round pick from 2012 (enter Scott calling me cheap).
