Didn't remember the Sobotka trade.
who are you thinking the Bruins use as a #4 then Kyle???
Gregory Campbell.
4th line of
Paille - Campbell - Thornton/Marchand
I am not saying that a trade wont happen, as they do have one or two too many forwards. I just hope that when one does it will not be for peanuts.

Sens fan on Boreds:
I just heard Pierre Dorion, Sens' Director of Player Personnel on Team1200 say that Ottawa is not going after Savard as they cannot make him fit under the cap.
I suppose he's not Murray and room could be made via trades but sounds like both, the Spezza trade is dead, and so is the Savard acquisition.
At this point I find it hard to believe that Savard goes anywhere but Toronto...
1. Philadelphia already has Jeff Carter, Daniel Briere, Micke Richards at center, not to mention that they have 0 cap space to work with.
2. Ottawa apparently has no space and are not interested in Savard, as per the above quote.
3. Chicago...Need I say more?
4. Montreal has two centerman locked up long term (Gomez and Plekanec) and no cap space to work with unless they are able to trade one of the two, this seems unlikely given that Gomez is unmovable, and Plekanec was just resigned.
This leaves only one team as a viable trading partner...Still think the Bruins will be getting a "fair offer" for Savard Kyle?

Just to be clear guys, that list of 5 is for the 2011-2012 season, not the 2010-2011 season, wherein he has a complete NTC, and has waiver for only 2 teams, toronto and ottawa... and one of those teams just pulled out.
and even cooler -> I believe when a player waiver his NTC to be traded, he no longer has that clause with the new team. Now I'm not sure if that's true for a complicated NTC like Savard has.

I don't think he will be traded and hope hes not. Burke usually doesnt lie to the media and he said it himself.
The Leafs' President and general manager told Toronto's Fan 590 radio station on Monday that while he's exploring other options to acquire players, the Bruins' No. 1 centre was not on the radar.
"The rumour - what I read anyway - is that Boston is looking to move this player," he said. "We have some options presented to us over the weekend, trade wise, that do not involve this player (Savard) that we are looking at."
The Bruins will not trade Savard for peanuts. He is there best player. All of this demands and personal issues is speculation until i read it from Savard himself after a deal. And I am pretty sure the list of possible trade teams increases to 5 after this July 1st not next season. I will try and verify.

There are far too many rumours going around for them to have never talked. I bet you Burke hasn't talked to Boston...
But Nonis has. Burke isn't lying in that scenario.

Hehe, yea there is definitely something going on. If Savard is going to be moved and it has to be Toronto it will be one for one with Kaberle. Thats my prediction and i would be very happy. Also if a package gets pu together i would love to have Stalberg...

LMAO, way to take a quote out of context...Listen to the whole interview Kyle, when initially asked Burke says "I cannot comment due to tampering rules", he NEVER says that when it's not true, he flat out denies the comment. If you listen to the whole thing, not just that one blurb it's pretty obvious he is just playing his cards close to his chest, secondly that second blurb was in response to a Kaberle trade...According to high ranked sources Kaberle isn't involved in a deal for Savard, so Burke is being honest there. Don't get excited, I heard the entire interview, and that blurb is taking shit out of context.

If Kaberle is traded I 100% guarantee it won't be for Savard, if it is than you can expect to be looking at Savard +...The Leafs #1 need is a young winger with size who can score goals, Burke has stated this on several occassions. IF Kaberle is dealt it will be for a goal scoring winger who is younger, and without a substantial injury history like Savard.
What you are continually neglecting is that the Bruins have no bargaining power (assuming the reports/rumours) are true. Savard wants out of Boston for personal reasons, is up ther in age, has an injury history, and is owed alot of salary. Not to mention that 4/5 teams included in his limited NTC have either no hope in hell or acquiring him OR have said to be out of the bidding (I.E. Ottawa Senators). All of that does not equal Kaberle for Savard, at this point you would be lucky to get Kulemin...

Man, we have been over this, we will never agree on much. You are so strong headed in your opinions and predictions. You have about as much insight as I or the bum on the corner has. We can guess and predict player value till we are blue in the face. You saying a 32 year old player is old is crazy. What is Kaberle? What you would do and what will actually happen will be miles apart. Book it. Lets actually go to the betting lounge and do some pick betting and put up some value instead of us arguing. You state your package and return for Savard and I will do the same. If and when a deal goes down we will evaluate it and see who wins. 5th rounder? deal..

Listen, I will be upset seeing him leave because i love him and he is the Bruins best player, but I understand the situation and if the return is fair it would be a good move for both teams. If Savard becomes a salary dump like some "smart" fans seem to think, than i will bow my head to them.
note: It wont be the head on my shoulders

The difference is that my insight is based on what I have read from people in the know, I.E. Mackenzie, Kypreos and Damien Cox among others, whereas you are basing your opinons off of what you hope will happen. Hockey doesn't always work like that, look no further than the Kubina or McCabe trade for proof of this...Sometimes as a general manager your hands are tied, and by all acounts that is the situation in Boston. When you have no leverage it's difficult to command a Kaberle type defenceman as a return.
If you look back at this thread you will notice that I haven't made any bold predictions, other than to say Savard will come to Toronto. As for returns all I have speculated on is what won't be going the other way, I.E. Tomas Kaberle. I refuse to guess what Savard will get back, because I don't know, what I do know is that it wont be a top prospect or Kaberle UNLESS a significant plus is added to the deal.

Lol, just like your infamous guarantee that you would beat me when we met last season. We all know how well that worked. Keep trying sunshine! If your mouth moves enough, law of averages says something correct has to come out sooner or later as evident by your post count. Good night my friend, we will continue tomorrow. You make me smile sometimes
