Make the draft in the order of finish this season with the #1 team (Scott) choose his team and so on until I pick from the last two and Lee gets the last team available. Then, have that be our league going forward. We need to stop the annual talk of Team A wants to move to another conference. If there truly is imbalance, allow everyone to pick where they feel comfortable and we essentially start with new teams but keep the same players. Let's either do mass re-alignment or none at all.

Yeah...I'm not suggesting we start completely from scratch. (however...it would do me well. ) Let's all re-draft for team identities and it would essentially allow us to pick where we want to play. At this point, none of our teams really have the makeup of our original teams anyway. If we're set on our 30 GMs, let's just take the time and have everyone pick again who they want to be and it will serve as our mass realignment.

I'm going to assume each of the top teams would prefer to not have to be in the same division so I don't think the top 4 or 5 picks would automatically take teams in the same division. Or we can set something up where every six picks must go into seperate divisions. Picks 1-6 choose a team in each division and the 7-12 pick a second team in each division and so on.

But if this is something we do...then the talk of realignment must never be brought up again. This is it!

That would be ideal Shoalzie, but it is near impossible because of all the admin work that would need to go into it...

Your first point contradicts your second. If you want relocation/re-alignment to be a dead issue you cannot support the status-quo, as the status quo is not a dead issue. Not even close.

Something has to give, and since I have yet to see a reasonable attempt made at balancing the schedule, this is the only alternative.

The only reason Billy and I switched was to get the correct 30 NHL teams back into this and eliminate Hartford.
