But you'll take the coke-head Kuznetsov at his large salary and 1/4 the production of Josi?DApolloS wroteCOLONat that salary? no thanks

We've all seen what happens when you give 3 players on your team about 40% of your cap...Da_Hawks wroteCOLONPacks more of a kick than your team that's for sure.DApolloS wroteCOLONSure. I'm talking about The Maple Laughs by the way...
Re: Seattle is open for business
At least their top players would be good bbkl'ers. Unlike Kuz. Josi would also be great in the bleu et blancDApolloS wroteCOLONWe've all seen what happens when you give 3 players on your team about 40% of your cap...Da_Hawks wroteCOLONPacks more of a kick than your team that's for sure.DApolloS wroteCOLONSure. Re: Seattle is open for business
you realize the team I've posted as is, without any of the other players I'll be drafting, would kick your team's ass up and down the ice every single day of the week, right?
Re: Seattle is open for business
Well, if he can afford them. he'd probably have to trade half his team just to get one of them...Bruyns wroteCOLONNot after Hawks acquire Josi and Malkin
Re: Seattle is open for business
I would have actually taken Josi too, but only to flip him. I figured some GM would pay up but it’s not a guarantee. Reminds me of some trade threads where teams say a GM should get more but aren’t willing to pay more themselves.

Re: Seattle is open for business
Yeah I'd probably trade josi too. Upside of a josi trade could be big, lowside would probably be acquiring something like gavrikov+3rd, is all I'm saying. Gavrikov is effective (especially at that cap) and should help the expansion team plenty too tho.
I think if u were more experienced in this specific league it would help, because u would know which specific GMs would be willing to pay for a guy like Josi.

Well, that's it! Thanks for following along!
Re: Seattle is open for business
Of the 3, Josi is probably the last one I would choose. He's a bitter pill to swallow at 9+ mil for the production he provides. That said, it's possible you could find someone dumb enough to cough up a decent 1st for him. Depending on how you feel about Mittlestadt's chances of breaking out, he may have been the better alternative to selecting Gavrikov.Da_Hawks wroteCOLONNo Josi... no Malkin... no Backstrom...
Seattle is going to suck. Really bad.
And surprised no Toews rage here . Considering Savard was the pick, it's arguable rolling the dice on Toews may have been the better move.
Re: Seattle is open for business
All in all, this Seattle squad is definitely fairly weak down the middle and definitely would've been nice to get some more secure options long term in net. As I originally suspected, this team could compete for one of the last playoff spots in the east, but is going to have a difficult time cracking the bracket in the west. Looking like a late lotto team out the gate before making any additional post expansion deals.
Re: Seattle is open for business
Not at all upset with losing Drouin. Tbh, he was the guy I was hoping would get selected. Still think he oozes skil, but at some point it’s gotta materialize into on ice success. So far he’s been a disappointment. From a BBKL perspective he doesn’t really bring a whole lot to the table either. The trade market for a player like that, these days at least, isn’t that large.

Re: Seattle is open for business
Happy with you forbort selection. Had a very productive season on a new team on a great contract last year. Which really helped me. But before last year I was real worried he was going to fizzle out of the league with how he was going on the kings. Obviously massive productive year and he’s a secure pick now. But happy you didn’t taken one of my proven vets with me trying to win now. So cheers
