This shows me the east is still far steonger than the west. I know some of you don't think so but I have a hard time seeing otherwise.

Agreed. There are talks in the real NHL of changing the system in the next year or so. Hopefully they fix it

I think the quality of GMs in both conferences is very balanced now. The teams are closer than it looks too. Give it a year IMO. This will be dead even

If the GMs are balanced but the talent pool is still lopsided, wouldn't you expect the talent pool to stay lopsided?

Nah, I have faith in guys like Bryma, Shook to build out true contenders (heck, Shook is already there). They have the assets to do it. So that you'll have 4-5 super elite teams in the west with LAK, MIN and STL. 5/14 in the west, 6/16 in the East.
