Spezza has a modified no trade clause, meaning he lists 10 teams he won't go to, hence he's only going to places he's interested in playing and thus won't be considered a rental by the team getting him. Assuming he's moved at all been Spezza rumors for years and nothing has ever happened

first, i don't see Spezza meshing too well with the BLues, their system and their coach in particular.

Second, i don't think Rattie is the Blues top prospect, and a real top prospect anyway.

Third, Murray will never trade Spezza for futures only (doesn't mean the value he will get will be necessarily better, but still..)

oh, and the thing that players requesting trades can still reject destinations is total BS

It will cost a lot more than a later 1st and mediocre prospect in Rattie to get Spezza, I'd imagine.
