If rumour is true, most likely players would be:

Ribeiro
Morrow
Ott

If we take on Ott to help the Stars shed cap I am cheering for another team...Assuming the rumor is true, the following are players I would target, that are realistic:

Stephane Robidas
Mike Ribeiro
Brenden Morrow

Would love to pick up Grossman on the cheap... not that we need another d-man.

My buddies uncle works beside Darren Dreger at TSN and heard the rumour. He's been texting my buddy updates with new pieces as things unfold.

Yesh I know, BS right? But this guy told us about the Giguere trade the night before, so I have reason to believe something is in the works/close.

The reason I don't want to post the rumoured trade, is because it looks like the biggest rape for the Leafs, which would discount any possible truth to it. The ONLY reason it would make even the smallest sense for the Stars is to re-sign Richards, and because of the internal team cap.

Okay, and I was told not to say anything but this forum is pretty secure so I ask just not to post anything really on a big forum.

The rumour, and as I've said repeatedly looks RETARDED from Dallas point of view, so could just be names heard, and not all combined in one trade.. but...

To Toronto: Ott, Neal, Grossman

To Dallas: Bozak, Sjostrom, Brent, 2nd --- upgraded to a 1st if Dallas makes the finals (or Conference finals, not sure)

.. But they don't need to clear that amount of space to re-sign Richards as he makes 7.5 million already. Unless the Owners internal cap becomes that much lower..

I don't understand it. But thats what I've been told. (Apparently he was updated with the Grossman and the 2nd to a 1st in the event they make it to the finals a couple hours ago).

I'm thinking his uncle heard these names from both sides, and putting them all together into one trade when in reality, not all will be involved.

I'm told it's going to go down "this weekend".

So take it for what it's worth. Speculate away.

Looks pretty rape right now..but knowing the Leafs. Dallas will make the finals and the leafs will finish 2nd last next year and lost out on Yakupov.

Which is why I was hesitant to post anything, let alone specifics. But like I said, it makes no sense for anybody to make this up.

And again, makes no sense from Dallas and why does Toronto need more D? Which is why I think these are peices being talked about in general, and not a firm offer one way or the other type-thing.

That actually kinda makes sense, wasn't Nieuwy one of the main guys that helped us recruit Bozak? If so, you have to imagine he knows alot about his game, and potential.

I don't LOVE the deal as I'm not as high on Neal as others, I'm unconvinced of how good a player he can be alone, and Ott makes alot for a grinder, not to mention this deal essentially eliminates our chances of signing Richards, but better the bird in hand I suppose.

Neal - Kadri - Kessel
Kulemin - Grabo - MacArthur
Versteeg - Ott - Armstrong
Brown - Boyce - Orr

Not bad if true...

Neal's bbkl value just fell through the floor... not getting free goals from Richards and Eriksson = grinder. meanwhile Benn's just shot through the roof... I wonder who will step into the role as big body presence on that line :? and he's got nicer touch himself!

Losing Bozak could look bad on us in the future, personally I think the kid is in nothing more then a sophomore slump, and that he'll pull out a return to being a really good centre. Ott is a mofo, but seems to get a fair amount done from the 3rd line:

Steeg-Ott-Army = awesome.

Neal-?-Kessel
Arthur-Grabo-Kulemin

Gotta admit it looks like a reasonable forward group. Grossman is similar to komi 3 years ago, hopefully he allows us to bench komi of today.

DownGoesBrown :
JS Giguere tells reporters that he wants to stay in Toronto, but would consider waiving his NTC out of loyalty if the team wanted him to.

"Hint hint, TOMAS", Giguere did not add, but might as well have.

I agree on all points.
