Komarov - McClement - Bodie

I think that could be a pretty good 4th line.

K so i know brennan has his defensive deficiencies but fuck man...the guys on pace for like an 85 pts season from the backend. Might get close to 30 goals too. Anyone else think he deserves a chance next season? Surely he cant be any worse than some of the other guys we have back there. Its not like he is very old either.

And who would you have him replace out of: Phaneuf, Franson, Gunnarsson, Rielly, Gardiner, Gleason?

Leo could certainly fill kulemins role. Kulemin def has more offensive skills, but he plays a defensive role. He's on the pk, on a shutdown line and doesn't see pp time.

Leo could want into that role at a cheaper pricetag and actually be a better shutdown player.


This was actually talked about on that's hockey tonight with that steve kulouos guy. About how the leafs could pay someone 1.5 do to kulemins job. I tend to agree.

Komarov has hands like Bissonnette and McLaren. He belongs on the 4th line, with 10-12 minutes of ice time a nice.

great shutdown guy, not as offensive as kulemin (but kulemin isn't used as an offensive player).

That said, no one in the NHL has worse hands than McLaren, that guy is awful...not even good enough to be in the ECHL imo.

So I agree with the sentiment that we can find a guy to do Kulemin's job for cheaper. But I also don't think Komarov is that guy. I'd put Komarov on the 4th line and find a 3rd line guy for 1-1.5M. Very doable IMO. Kulemin is great but not worth the money.

Well we're paying Colton Orr 1M to play 3 minutes a night. As far as the minutes go, I think Carlyle needs to transition over to a 4th line he actually uses. We have the cap space to do it and we can find the horses to do that. 1st line 20 ish minutes, 2nd line 16 ish, 3rd line 14 ish, 4th line 10 minutes. If that doesn't work for Komarov, we can find others.

Take out fransons playoffs last year and hed be a worthy of replacement.

i also dont understand why MSL isn't with crosby and kunitz, but i guess it really doesn't matter.

The Leafs have better 1st line Ws than team Canada.
