We are done. Those 3 together are awful.
Leafs are playing Florida...don't think it will matter much.
When you roll 3 lines all night it's exhausting for them. Florida has beaten once this year already.

This has let-down game written all over it. 4-1 Panthers win.

nice prediction...lol (McLaren didn't play though)

Apparently Vanek turned down a 7-yr deal worth $50M from the Isles....breaks down as 7.15M AVV. I pity Vanek's owner next year...

He said he wants to be a free agent. It's not about the money (apparently) he just wants to have the feeling of being a free agent.

Something to that effect.

Someone will probably pay him similar money in free agency

he's one of those guys that don't care about team morale/leaving a legacy with one team sorta shit, that's all. Bure was one of them and same with Kovalev

I'd do the same damn thing, especially if I'd been with the team for just a few months.

I think he ends up in Minny. Rumours about it have been swirling for a while and he played university hockey there and has friends on the team including Pominville.

It just makes the Islanders trade look even more idiotic.

It won't be equivalent to Moulson a lottery pick and a high second. He is a rental player, won't have huge value and the team has to be able to fit in his cap hit.

It was a gamble to try for a playoff spot, but they needed goaltending not a swap of Moulson for Vanek.

I don't even understand what the people in the front office were thinking on that deal. How much better can Vanek make a line than Moulson when JT is in the middle?

I imagine the talks went something like Steve's talks go with Paul:

NYI: We want Miller and we're willing to give up our 1st + a 2nd + prospect for it
BUF: That's not enough for Miller but you can have Vanek for that if you add Moulson
NYI: Ok posting...

Doesnt NYI have the choice on draft day as to which 1st they send BUF? As in this years or next? I am pretty sure that was in the deal.

Yes but that doesn't make it any better lol. Also from NYI's perspective, what if they are this bad next year? Then it would be in the McDavid draft, so I'm not even sure if they want to do that.
