I had a list of 5 defensemen after Nemec and Jiricek that could be available at 24 but I wouldn't have moved up for any of them. I would've taken the best name left on my board at that spot.
I like your Gauthier and McGroarty picks. Should be excellent BBKL'ers... if you can hold onto them ;).

You wouldn`t happen to be developing a US bias though, would you haha.

Those two are building blocks for me so no plans to trade them. I just need to cobble together an NHL roster for the few years and stick to building up my prospect pool. It would be awesome to see these guys in the NHL in a year or two but I can wait.

Do I have an American bias? I just really like taking guys from the USNTDP because the track record is there. I'm not against CHL players...it's all about who is available at my pick.

I have certain college programs I trust for developing players. McGroarty can practically step in be captain material for Michigan. They'll be in a rebuild after so many guys left. I'll be watching Adam Fantilli also...he'll there along with Nazar. Gauthier can be a star at Boston College since guys like McBain and McLaughlin are gone.

Miro at this point is risky, but makes sense for Kyuss. If anyone can wait out cancer and a war it's Kyuss' system.

I want to be at the point where Mik is where you can take chances on guys like him and they can just take all the time they need to develop.

For teams like yours and mine...we can't really take risks and we need to hit home runs with our picks or we stay at the bottom of the league forever.

well I figured that considering I'll need to trim some players anyway, it made sense to make a 2 for 1 here for Miro, who I believe could be the best BBKLer out of this class.

Even if it could turn out to be a 2 for 0. But the last news were encouraging enough for me to warrant the investment. If he recovers and succeeds, he's going to be a difference maker for my team, hitting all cats in a way I don't see other prospects doing

I thought he might make it to 24. With how NHL teams have avoided Russians in the past I wonder how this draft will look. I'd like the Leafs to grab one of the two top Russians at 25. They have had a good relationship with bringing over Russian players and I think there's a decent chance one or both drop to 25.

It's gross what's happening to Russian players. Makes you wonder about Michkov next year.

Can someone reverse my trade with Chicago on FT? We were told to hold off on it due to new GM taking over and he hasn't responded to my messages so I'm guessing the trade isn't happening anymore.

Mintyukov at 17. I have him at 8 on my (almost!) final ranking. So, so good.

Yep. I have them 8 (Mintyukov), 9 (Mateychuk) and 10 (Korchinski) right now. Korchinski is interesting. As I say in my writeup on him, no WHL U18 defender has posted the kind of assist pruduction Korchinski did since Daryll Sidor in 1989-1990. On the other hand, he has only shot at 2.2% so far in the W. If he improves his shot, he's going to be the best of the three, I think.
