All 3 were more highly regarded prospects. I take it you own him in fantasy judging by you liking the fit in Detroit so that would make you biased since you are invested in wanting him to succeed. I have seen every inning he has pitched in the majors and he has good stuff, but so did Dustin McGowan, some pitchers aren't capable of putting it altogether. When the Jays preferred using Dubrount/Copeland/Boyd over him it was evident the club had soured on him a bit as was being reported on local Toronto talk radio. He was being shopped in an apparent Maybin/Wood deal with the Braves that fell apart. If he becomes a solid 3 that will be good value for a rental and the Tigers should be happy, but the chances he is a top of the rotation pitcher is slim which is why the Jays were willing to move him for a 11-12 start rental.

Kind of a limited sample size huh? I'll see your MLB innings and raise you I've watched nearly all of his starts in the minors this year along with just about every top 50 prospect in baseball. It is not a slim chance at all he is a top of rotation pitcher. He is either going to be a 2-3 or fizzle out and have to reinvent himself as a reliever. #4/#5 starters don't possess the kind of stuff that he has. They moved him because he gave them a chance to acquire one of the 10 best pitchers in baseball. You don't get Price without giving up a prospect like that. The other 2 specs in the deal are filler. Yes they were in the organizations top 20...but that isn't saying much.

How can you watch all top 50 prospect every night? You watch 10 games at once? Do you not watch MLB or do you watch baseball 24/7 since the amount you claim to watch and the number of hours in a day don't really add up.

Believe what you want, we both have opinions and yours doesn't carry any more weight than mine. You think he will be a 2 and I do not, only time will tell.

I had to believe the Tigers were going to get a top pitching prospect in return. If it was the Dodgers, the name mentioned was Urias. This season has been a bust in Detroit and I'm glad they're going this route. They're still very close to competing next year. You can play the what if game with Cabrera's injury but I don't know if you can overcome the shortcomings the pitching staff has had this year. This team has had some full on meltdowns.

There was zero chance of Urias ever being moved. Same as Seager. That said, the Dodgers other prospect were still a helluva lot better than what the Jays could have offered outside of Norris.

Verlander seems like a shell of his former self too. They need him to return to form or they are in trouble.

They aren't married but that's beside the point.

He's capable of gems like Wednesday afternoon but he's also capable of train wreck outings. He's not a true ace anymore.
