I'll take 7x7 for Dion easily. Great deal for the Leafs. If you look at our core:

Kessel - 8.25
Dion - 7
Lupul - 5.25
JVR - 4.25

That's 4 solid pieces locked in at 24.75M.

Compare that to a lot of teams around the league and it's a great cap number for 4 players of that caliber (provided Lupul stays healthy..)

Now it is just about figuring out the supplementary player picture. Who do you keep out of the rest, do you let guys like Bozak/Clarkson go at some point in a trade, do you move out Gardiner/Reimer/Bernier at any point, what do Bolland and Frason get etc.

i feel could be championship pieces. the supporting cast needs serious work though.

I am personally not sure who I'd keep yet as I'd need to see more. I lean towards Bernier though. But yeah we have that ace in the hole in terms of a big move to make at some point in time to find a C or a top pairing D.

I'd take Reimer over Bernier every game of the season.

I await Leafs moving Reimer and he goes on to be a Top 10 goalie in the NHL, with ease. He's been getting shafted all year long and his leash is about 10 inches while Bernier's is 10 feet.

The jury may be out, but when Carlyle has sex with Bernier in the showers, it's obvious who their starter is regardless of play.

Very true. I hate Carlyle in general. He plays favourites with every player. Ranger and Fraser continue to see time. And Bernier gets way more support than Reimer.

I think Bernier has looked really good this season too and I think eventually Reimer is the one that's going to be pushed out of town and it won't surprise me at all if he continues to be one of the best goalies in the league stat wise.

In all seriousness reimer is obviously a great young talent. Personally I just feel more comfortable with bernier in net. Whoever ends up going should fetch us a quality return. I think it will be reimer leaving.

Ya i can never get the hate for Reimer. He kept us in so many games last year and he's been good this year as well but Bernier has been a bit better IMO. I think we have 2 starting caliber goalies.
