Thats fine. Salary dump is perfect. Allows the Bruins so much breathing room. Also doesn't restrict some players who are up now like Caron or Marchand.

a guy like Maltby would have been replaced with another effective 4th liner.
4th liners are replaceable.
Now i guess you will say the Leafs don't have anyone to replace Brown.. which would only confirm they are in bad shape right now (btw you don't necessarily need to replace a guy with someone else that brings the same kind of game/contribution.. but i guess you will all disagree).
4th liners are worth nothing.....but the stories that say Bure was a piece of shit to two organizations and Malkin is lazy are nothing but Urban Legends? wow dude.
IMO 3rd and 4th liners are what set good teams apart from contenders. Who is the guy on my team that I love so much its almost a man crush on this year when it comes to Canucks? Manny Malholtra. I realize he is a third liner but its the same stuff that makes him important that makes Brown important. Before him it was Ryan Johnson who won big faceoffs and blocked shots like a mofo. 4th liners are like the Bullpen of hockey, they never get any credit but without a good one you will never win.

um, apparently the Sturm deal is dead as of right now. Medical reasons. That really sucks if so.

It's true, confirmed by multiple sources on twitter. And both GMs for that matter.

Concerns about Strums Medical records killed the deal. The ACL/MCL surgery in particular. He had already waived his NTC too..
Guess thats a bit awkward now....

Markov officially out for the season. With Rinne out we'll get to see what Lindback can do, I have high hopes.

...and Karl Alzner.
Speaking of the Caps...I love how vague the injury report was on Tom Poti going into yesterday. They make it sound like he's going to still miss time and I decide to put him on IR. What does he do Monday? Assists on 3 of the 4 Caps' goals. Damn it!
The guy only seems to produce when the injury report says he's not looking so good. I'm not scratching him again the rest of the season...it's hard enough to get offense with this team.

If you're upset because this will make things easier on Shiv, I didn't dress McDonald this week.
