Before crosbys emergence the last decade and a half, we had mario leading the way with sakic in 2002. The olympic before that in 98 we still had gretzky + sakic etc in his prime. Without crosby it would be stamkos as the next best thing

Claude Giroux, Ryan Getzlaf, Logan Couture, Patrice Bergeron, Matt Duchene, Joe Thornton, Jason Spezza, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Brad Richards, Mike Richards, Tyler Seguin is still miles better than anything any other country can have. he could wear a cast for 6 weeks and be fine. or he could need surgery w/ rods and screws and be out 6 months minimum. hell, we don't even have confirmation anything is broken yet.
