So apparently you need to be a good hockey player to avoid trouble with the law.

This happened in Phoenix, I doubt law enforcement were aware what a hockey player was. Had it happened in his hometown (ala Kane) I'm sure he would of gotten off.

According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the Flyers and Jeff Carter have agreed to a 11-year, $58 million contract extension for a cap hit of $5.27 per season on average.

Great deal for the Flyers.
Kadri gets 2 game AHL suspension for arguing with official.
Will be served once he returns to the Marlies.

They'll burn his suspension either way on off days the Leafs aren't playing.

I think he will go on a tear, but I doubt it has much to do with the contract situation. Pro's don't think about that during the season, and I'm sure he knew he was going be signed regardless.

Doesn't that effect how many times we can call up and demote him?

Not as far as I know. May be wrong though.

I don't know if I buy that. These are human beings and in Carter's case he's grown with the Philadelphia Flyers. His contract was expiring and there was rumblings of the possibility of being moved. Now, obviously Carter was going to get his money but with who? It kind of reminds me when all the talk of Carter being traded for Kaberle a few years back and then Carter puts together that 2008-2009 season. I honestly think Carter can breathe now and his play will show it. Carter really hasn't looked himself so far this season.. I'm obviously calling it as I see it and this is my opinion.

It's a fair opinion, I just think he would have broken out either way, even if he wasn't signed his play would likely rise to warrant an extension or more money.

I hope a breakout like 2008-2009 :)
