We'll have a vote on it before it's made official. It wouldn't take affect until 2019's draft.

From the claims thread:
Please note:
"After the Waiver draft, the un-owned NHL-signed players will become available as free agents; however, after rosters submission, those still eligible for the 2018 Entry draft will join the pool of players reserved for it."
So this tells me NHL contract supercedes age while pre-roster submission, so someone like Zamula with a 2000 birthday could be claimed. But after submission could not.

Correct...he could only be drafted, not claimed/signed because of his age.

2015 waiver draft:
http://bbkl.ca/posting.php?mode=quote&f=83&p=228180
Seems it was discussed on the board but never instituted (no idea if it was discussed in the CC) so I'm guessing I'm good here but it will go into the rulebook for next year?

Actually, I believe by our current rules if undrafted he could still be signed after the draft, but only until roster submission.
iirc I would have preferred the rule to be that such players could only be picked up in the waiver draft (and entry draft)

I think that any player signed during the year and that has not played an NHL game should be subject to the waiver draft or nhl entry draft if still eligible. Would give those waiver picks a ton more value, hell - could even expand the draft a couple more rounds.

We should do free agency Monday.

That's fine with me...give everyone a little extra time to be prepared. Don't want this draft to end late on Saturday and live no lead time for free agency.

So how does free agency work? Free for all on whoever is leftover?

Free agent thread is posted...I assume we'll get these last 10 picks done in the day or so.

If someone can PM me when Anaheim is up I'd appreciate it. I'm making Matthew's pick on his behalf.

Why is Martin F whatever eligible to be drafted in the waiver draft?

Contracted player and unclaimed on fantrax makes him eligible. Draft eligibility is irrelevant if a contract is signed.

The dude was just drafted... it's a bit ridiculous that he would be available.

This is why it’s important to cross your t’s and dot your i’s with your roster re: Fantrax

Right...hands off other teams' players. Still another week to add your players on Fantrax.
