again:
- After the Waiver draft, the unowned NHL-signed players will become available as free agents; however, after rosters submission, those still eligible for the 2015 Entry draft will join the pool of players reserved for it.
so yes, they have to be signed to a NHL contract, and (if signed) those eligible for the 2015 Entry Draft are available as free agents as well, till roster submission.

Anyone that has a skipped pick...I will lock the draft thread at midnight tonight. You have the rest of the day to make up your pick(s) or they will be officially dropped.
Free agent claims will begin at noon tomorrow along with the resumption of non-contracted drops.

Yes and he is still eligible for next year's draft, fact that he is signed has absolutely no bearing on his availability in this year's waiver draft.. your own rules say 'player born before January 1st 1995'. Gregoire was born 1995-08-05. Therefore he is not eligible again.. did u just join the league today man, ffs

Eligibility
Automatically eligible for the 2014 Waiver draft are ALL bbkl-free players who were:
- born before january 1st 1995, if they played a season in N.A. when 18,19 or 20yrs old
- born before january 1st 1994, if they never played in N.A. when 18,19 or 20yrs old
Additionally, bbkl-free players already signed to a NHL contract are eligible as well, even if born later than that.

What exactly does this last line even mean if that means that any signed prospect isn't eligible? That needs to re-worded.

I'll change my pick when I get clarification on what that's supposed to mean.

I took Vanecek who is eligible for 2 more bbkl drafts but is on an nhl contract. Gregoire should be ok if he's signed

Nah I'm keeping Vanecek. I read that thing like 7 times I'm pretty sure he was eligible.

So we are okay then? I know Gregoire wouldn't be eligible on his age but the fact he's signed makes him eligible, which is what that last line in the rules supposed to mean...I think.

Jesus... what part of that damn line exactly needs to be reworded?
- Gregoire is signed
http://capgeek.com/player/3459 (this is the link you should post when it comes to contracts, not eliteprospects)
- Gregoire is not owned by any BBKL team (I didn't check it, for the record)
==> Gregoire is eligible for Our Waiver Draft
What's unclear about this?

I blame Luke for the confusion.

BTW: it's been that way for yrs
BTW#2: I was not the one who wanted to have NHL signed guys eligible for the Waiver Draft even if still eligible for Entry Draft; longer members were telling me that it made no sense not to have NHL-signed guys available for the Waiver Draft or later as Free Agents anyway, and that players under NHL contracts had always been eligible for WD and FA in BBKL. So that line was added, and I still can't see how it can create confusion.
It also makes the Waiver Draft richer, which is nice, as bottom teams have the higher picks (well, if they keep and manage to use 'em)

It's all good...I've been reading that correctly this whole time. Luke put some doubt in my head.

I don't think it was that way for years, I think that line was just added in for this year, I don't recall being able to select players in waiver who are still eligible for the following entry draft
Sorry for the confusion people, I was wrong my apologies to you Scott and Arian

No worries, doesn't hurt to make sure. I actually never noticed it either until a few days before the waiver draft when I spotted it. It definitely makes the waiver draft a bit more interesting.
