It definitely takes patience to build that way but you do have prospects to build around.

My hope is to gradually get better each year with players not on their last legs so I can sustain over time. I do have my pick in 2013 but I'm not resting on that saving my team. I don't have sexy prospects...I need to build with guys like Hagelin who was a throw-in in a deal couple years ago. I liked being the playoffs my first year but sinking like a stone to the bottom has not been fun...I'd love to get back to the playoffs eventually.

I couldn't do that.. why even bother playing if you aren't going to actually try and win?

I didn't have the luxury of having a functional team when I took over. Need time to build a foundation.

Losing sucks. Don't get me wrong. It's a necessary evil.

Lee has done a nice job this season. Both Kareem and Shiv rebuilt mid season using mostly prospects and picks to acquire top end talent ... no reason Lee can't do the same.

Then again ... we're talking about Lee, so ...
