Watched The Immortals last night.

It got a little slow at times and could have used a few more of the fight scenes (which were fantastic, especially when the gods were doing it), but overall I thought it was an enjoyable movie.

Meh. Didn't like it. Liked your Elite Squad recommendation though. Excellent movie.

The movie was soooooooo fucking slow. Ps i nrver said i disliked it i said i was dissapointed with it. 93 from rottentomatoes...lots if ppl around here hyping it up...just a big let down. Sure there was 2 very graphic scenes, but it didnt make up for the rest imo.
I think a lot of the message in that film was existential, but I suppose a great deal of the hype was in part due to A History Of Violence as well. Both are terrific films worthy of Academy recognition.
Finally saw drive after about a month of forgetting to watch it. Overall very good movie imo, it was slow for sure and I'd be hard pressed to really place it within a certain genre, but at the very least it has a really interesting sense of style about it that I loved.

I think the style is called 'modern noir'. Same as noir films, but a touch more realistic in its violence.

Oh yeah, generally speaking I can see that, I meant the style with the 80's fonts and sound track, restricted dialogue, exaggerated violence etc etc; it was a mish-mash of a lot of familiar elements from other movies I'd seen put put together in a unique way.

Just saw Raid: Redemption in the theatre with my pops and my bro.

One of the more intense action movies I have seen in the last few years. Just insane...decent lil story too to go with all the slaying.

My jaw dropped around 4-5 times during the movie because of the insane scenes.

I've heard nothing but really, really good things about this movie. Did you rent or torrent it Mike?

One movie I'd like to watch that just recently became available to rent is The Grey with Liam Neeson

I torrent as well. Mostly because Netflix/Blockbuster piss me off ... I only download DVD/Blu-Ray rips. Refuse to watch cam shit ...

If you want to watch a "fun" movie, Chronicle is worth checking out as well
