Rick Nash is a franchise player, Jake Gardiner doesn't have that potential and people wouldn't be willing to include him in a deal for Rick Nash, it's laughable to me.

I love the 180 you've done with regards to Jake Gardiner...

Jake is nice no doubt... but this is like saying Aulie made the Phaneuf trade for you -> LOL. The proven NHLer who fits our organizational needs and is still young himself is > a reasonable prospect.

Gardiner is more than a "reasonable prospect", I have been after him in this league forever (just ask Ryan), elite skating ability, good size, strong offensive vision and shot, and defensive ability to boot. He has top pairing potential, I definitely view him as the prime piece in this deal, and all reports indicate that he was in fact the main piece of the deal. That said, I believe Lupul can add alot to this team, and he is still young enough that he can improve yet.
