Steve Mason tripped over the red line again, Allen York called up again.

Somehow that's a good thing.

I have got to be the most opportunistic trader in this league...I trade BMO and Burish for Koivu, and they go on IR the next period, I trade Myers for Keith, and he goes on IR the next period. I'm either incredibly fortunate, or psychic, I like to think its the latter.

It's hard to believe, but the Bruins are now an unstoppable force of truculence after winning their 10th straight game last night. Caught a bit of the game too -- one of the better games this year.

Checking the #s on NHL.com and one thing I found interesting about the Bruins' fantastic streak is that they actually managed to push their 5on5 goals for/against ratio to 1.82. Over the past four seasons, the Bruins have been at the top three times in the ESGF/GA category. It's a good measure of a team's play and the Bruins are thoroughly dominating the fuck out of the NHL right now.

1.82 seems extremely unsustainable though. St. Louis is right behind them at 1.60, while San Jose, Detroit, and Minnesota are right around the upper-normal range. Leafs stand at 1.05 -- I mentioned the Leafs ES play as a good barometer to determine Wilson's effectiveness on the organization recently on twitter. Starting with the Leafs, the team was 0.89, 0.94, 0.94, and now 1.05 this year. Not bad. The average is (obviously), 1.00, but most top-tier teams are usually around the 1.15-1.20 range.

Hopefully our ES defense continues to improve.

Yeah, the Bruins are hot, luckily they started out shitty, so once this streak dissipates, the Leafs should still be in striking distance for the division crown.

This Bruins team is playing better than the cup winning team last season. If they got down last year they usually turned to goonery and lost. These guys don't quit. They stick to the system and are playing as a TEAM. Big test against Detroit tomorrow.

The list of players and the quality of players being put on waivers is blowing my mind.

Right now you guys are unbeatable, but remember...A team is never as good as it looks when it's going well and never as bad as it looks when it's going poorly.
