CC Format Change

Post by Robin Hood »

The CC is hidden. No one knows whats going on until there is a decision on anything. We have no idea which issues are on the table for the CC. It comes up here and there as hearsay. We are unable to give any input. We find out a decision and then we get to give our opinion but our opinions make no difference because a decision has been made. I'm not saying all this to just be critical. I'm trying to be constructive. Imo every issue should be handled in an open, fair format. I suggest a format like the following:

Step 1: CC Decides to Explore Issue (A member brings it to their attention, they decide to pursue it themselves etc.)
Step 2: Issue is posted in Special Forum created for CC topics viewable by the entire league. In this forum the parties involved should post their side of the story following which everyone else posts their opinion on the issue. There should be a time limit on this discussion. I.e. A day or two.
Step 3: After the 2 Day Open Discussion Period, the CC takes the discussion behind closed doors. Here the CC not only makes a decision based on whats fair, But also takes what the league thinks into consideration as it is a major factor.
Step 4: The CC votes and makes a decision.
Step 5: The CC's decision is announced within the thread of the topic, and the Issue's Subject Title should have the word Resolved in it. I.e. "Resolved: Pittsburgh's Penalty for Double Trading 2nd Round Waiver to Columbus."

This is the type of process with which transparency is increased. And I think it is about time it is put into place.
