bcool wroteCOLONHey Guys, just wanted to chime in.

Before I begin, I'd just like to thank CC for being dilligent and responsive to the issue in a timely manner as well as Shiv for being relatively cooperative and understanding through this whole thing.

My intentions through this whole thing was to just get compensation for my missing pick. I had no intention of screwing Shiv or hoping that he would get penalized..I just wanted compensation which I feel I deserve. I think I told Scott before I went to Vegas that I would take an entry pick of equal value to a 2nd waiver pick (whatever CC decides) or the exact pick in the 2011 waiver draft.
Bry if this issue came to my attention I would've just sent you:

4th BOS 2010 + 5th WSH 2010.
Personally, I would rather a 3rd than a 4th and a 5th.

bcool wroteCOLONShiv - I found out about this Thursday and I told Mash and Scott (both online at the time). I would've 100% talked to you too but you wern't online and I had a flight to vegas that same night.
thats what this is, compensation -> 3rd 2010.
No its not nick. Its pushing the limit on overpenalizing. I would send Bry a 4th + 5th in 2010. If the CC can consider this I would appreciate it.
just FYI-> i have nothing wrong with you guys agreeing that this is fine. next time perhaps don't bother bringing it to the CC if you'd rather sort it out with the GM.

I would like to add a couple points. Please take into consideration that this is a young league and we are still working out minor kinks. We plan on having a complete bargaining agreement and rules package in place that deals with fines and picks before this upcoming season. Pretty much everything has been discussed and Neel and the CC has done a lot of work in creating this.

Last season at the beginning before rules were "in writing" we did have some debate about fines and such. Once they were figured out fines for such things as illegal claims, double trading picks, missing games played etc, were handed out. Once the process has been started and rules in place the league would be to subjective to not continue handing out fines. The exact fines are not all written at this moment for every possible situation but using prior offenses from other gms as examples to gauge severity seems to be the fairest method for everyone involved including the league as a whole.

I hope this can be a lesson on how important it is to keep track of picks and assets at all times and record everything! The admins do a lot but they can and will miss things, so it is each GM's responsibility to document ALL transactions pertaining to ones team on there team pages. I personally have found mistakes that i could have benefited from as well as ones where i was missing assets, but having detailed records helped remedy the situation.

I understand simple mistakes and they will happen, but consideration had to be given to the GM that was basically screwed over at the height of the picks value. Special circumstances had arose with his traveling. I also can understand Shiv's point in saying that if caught in time, the GMS involved could have worked this out. The big issue here was the timing and when the mistake was noticed. I hope there is not too many hard feelings here and everyone understands what went on an why there was a fine. I guess the issue is gauging the value of a 3rd entry versus a 2nd waiver. I personally think it is a fair fine and proper value as it related to past fines including members of the CC and the league creator. The players in the waiver pool had some high value. A third round prospect is almost a crap shoot. Go through recent drafts and count how many 3rd rounders are full time NHL players. This should give an understanding to this league that the picks are way over-valued. A third is not a severe fine. Just take it and note the experience for future reference, with no ill feelings!

lol wow thats fucked. he shouldve come to me. i have a clean record in this league. regardless i think when a certain gm approaches the CC the accused gm should be notified and the two parties should go to arbitration to work out the issue amongst themselves. if reconciliation is still not possible the CC should step in afterwards.
IMO shoulda talked to shiv first.

why? he should be able to just take his pick.

its not that he knew shiv double traded it. he found it out when another GM made a pick that he thought he owned. shiv wasn't on, messaged a CC member.... nothing wrong with that.....
