Gamecenter Live or hockeystreams??

Post by inferno31 »

Hey,
So I'm debating buying a Gamecenter Live subscription this year to watch Leaf games. Since I'm in NYC I'm not sure whats blacked out. Before I was thinking it'd be Rangers, Devils, Islanders which is 12 games lost to me.. Now I'm realizing MSG Network also plays Buffalo games sometimes but I'm not in that immediate area so I'm not sure if thats blacked out or not either. In the end thats 12-18 games blacked out. I've also read they blackout all national games and almost all of the playoffs, which would really suck. I was wondering if any of you use gamecenter and your dealings with it?

I know there are free streams online, but I wanted something in HD quality.

I used hockeystreams in the past but their customer service seems to have gone to shit. I also always feel like I'm a good 30 seconds to 2 minutes behind the play. I have a better internet connection now than before so I'm not sure how that'll work.

Any experiences you want to share or tips on things I could do?

Also I don't have a TV even so Cable is out of the question.

I have both... but Hockeystreams is good enough on its own. Gamecenter is a damn good product though.

I just got NHL GameCenter LIVE for my internet, and I just feel like I got ripped off HUGE, because half of the games apparently air on TSN and TSN 2, so they are blacked out... and I don't fucking get neither of those channels on my basic cable :\

Yeah, this is a problem a lot of people have... Im lucky enough to have NHL CenterIce with Shaw as well as Gamecenter...

I like using GameCenter because its a really awesome product. Great multi-game viewing screen, awesome highlight archives. and cool stat updating.

I think that GameCenter is a great buy but you more than likely have to use it WITH streams as well to get EVERY game.

hockeystreams is so up and down. there will be stretches where everything works great, and then there will be weeks at a time where it comes off as a complete mickey mouse operation.

but i guess you get what you pay for.

Yea. Here we go. I got a subscription from Rogers though. The pricing hasn't changed at all however. IMO, GC > CI, but the additional costs to run GC will and can be found in your BW. I'm switching to teksavvy ASAP.

Thanks Lee. Great resource. Here is one for you in case there is ever problem with your link. http://forum.wiziwig.eu/forums/29-NHL-I ... 40b159dbaa

So why is GC better than CI? The additional features? I mean i have a couple 46" LCD's with an HD feed. I havent hooked up my internal network yet to stream to my TV's so watching on comp can never be as good.

Get an HDMI cord, attach it to your LCD through your laptop, and configure the displays. You'll be able to use two screens.

Yea, i wish i had HDMI out on laptop but i dont. What i do have is 2 cat 5 and a coax ran to every room in house. I need to get a network capable HD and set up so i can stream direct. Only my fucking desktop must have fried last night. Loads the dell screen and boot menu but goes to blinking single line on black screen. not good. Was dl torrents before bed and all was fine. applied some microsoft updates as well. All i can attribute to my failure.

If your computer is POSTing, try to boot into safe mode and do a system restore.

Ok Mike. Remind me again how to boot into safe mode. I get two choices, F2 for setup and F12 for boot menu.
