LTIR question

Post by Monk »

if a player is placed on long term injured reserve at the submission of line ups (october 1st), can he be taken off ltir before the start of nhl regular season, or does the 3 week rule for ltir players come into effect right when we submit line ups on the 1st...

it would make more sense if we were allowed to still change a players ltir status and dress him to our active roster as the season has not started and a player's status can change in that time frame because we still have a week until the season starts after roster submission, but i would like to get confirmation on this issue as others may have the same dilemma

Any player placed on LTIR MUST remain there for a minimum of three periods, no exceptions. If you want the flexibility of keeping an injured player in your lineup, place him on IR and you can use him whenever you please.
