Shiv has too many centers and I think he's done well to turn a strength into strengthening other spots. Bolland is an intriguing guy...he's got the makings of a formidable checking line center.

lol this deal improved my chances imo. and i'm with steve. bolland could go from a 45 point guy to a 60 point guy (he had 16 points in 22 playoff games. that prorated to 82 is equal to 60 points). and this is with all of chicagos depth in the line up. all its going to take is Sharp getting moved/bolland getting line 2 center with hossa. btw for those that are curious:

Henrik = 90 points
Skrastins = 10 points (He was my 6th d-man)
Total Salary = 7.4m
Total = 100 points (on average)

Bolland = 50 points
Kubina = 30 points
Total Salary = 7.4m (assuming Kubina gets 4m as a FA which i think he will get less than but lets be conservative)
Total = 80 points (reasonable forecast regardless of where kubina goes and these are conservative estimates)

Thats a difference of 20 points. But the entire 20 points are in assists not goals. Assists were the category I have plenty in.

None of this is to mention, FOW even out, I gain HUGE in SHTOI, PIMS, HITS, BS, SOG, STPTS.

AND I got a 1st Rounder + 3rd Rounder + 4th for free.

Bolland has yet to score 50 points in the NHL, I hardly view that as a conservative estimate. Especially considering the unknowns with him, is he traded? Does Chicago get weaker up front? Etc.

It looks like the deal fits for both, Sedin is overrated imo but he will still put you up some numbers and shiv will increase in other categories, I don't believe Bolland will be a 60 pt guy id say around 30 to 40 but he will help out in other cats as well so the deal isn't bad. imo

yeah personally from your standpoint that deal was at best equal i thought.
