Re: Farewell
Not to mention, EITHER WAY:
1) SJS will get a New GM - So why not Tony?
2) New GM will get a team who cares if its NYI/SJS. Tony's a die hard sharks fan. I have respect for that as a Leaf fan. He has rejected ridiculousness from me for guys like Doug Murray and I'm sure he has done the same to others, which really proves this is not about taking over a better team. The guy just wants the team he cheers for in real life lol. Isn't this league supposed to be for hockey fans?

Re: Farewell
Not it was not, because you wanted to move ALL your assets over so that you could keep your stud team in an easier conference. Tony wants to just take over a different team because he is a fan.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONSame answer, no. It doesn't matter if it is a name swap, asset swap or what have you, the answer is no. Re: Farewell
I think Tony wants to quit as the Isles Gm and take over the Sharks.. nothing changes.. what's the problem with this?

Is this the final answer? Not from Kareem, from everyone.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLON Same answer, no. It doesn't matter if it is a name swap, asset swap or what have you, the answer is no. The precedent for these moves was set in the summer.

Are we beholden to you? Has being the GM of the Isles been a hardship?Mr. Islander wroteCOLONWhat Shiv has said is correct - I want the Sharks logo/team name. I don't care about assets ... If I have to give up picks or whatever to do so as a penalty, so be it. I'll take Neel's current team ...
If you think a brand new GM coming is a better option to take over the current SJ team after I've been here a year and half, fine ...

Re: Farewell
Essentially what is happening is a scenario where Tony quits, and SJS and NYI are available, and he gets SJS. While Chad gets NYI. Don't see what the big deal is.
Re: Farewell
If he wants to quit he can get in line for a new team, but anyone quitting for such a frivolous reason will not be getting my endorsement for a new team. The Devil wroteCOLONI think Tony wants to quit as the Isles Gm and take over the Sharks.. nothing changes.. what's the problem with this?

As a place where hockey fans come to blow off steam I see no reason why Tony can't get the team he is a fan of when it essentially changes nothing.Mike wroteCOLONIf he wants to quit he can get in line for a new team, but anyone quitting for such a frivolous reason will not be getting my endorsement for a new team. The Devil wroteCOLONI think Tony wants to quit as the Isles Gm and take over the Sharks.. nothing changes.. what's the problem with this?

It took us a year to fix all the draft picks that were traded for the name switch.

Re: Farewell
Shep. He doesnt want a name switch. for the 100th time. he wants to leave NYI and it's assets and be the GM who takes over Neel's team/assets in the west. That requires no change in terms of picks.Shep wroteCOLONIt took us a year to fix all the draft picks that were traded for the name switch.

Re: Farewell
I think an asset switch is very bad precedent. GM's switching spots is silly silly silly.
I have nothing wrong with (and supported every other time it came up) with Tony changing to the Sharks, and taking all of his current assets with him. It is ugly to have guys switching to an empty team and getting their assets every time an opening comes up.
I disagree with Kareem that precedence was set in the summer when we turned down one of his hissy fits. Someone needs to read some Farley Mowat. Switching to your favourite team is a good reason IMO, but NOT getting the sharks assets. IMO NEEL's players switch to the NYI, and Tony's current players and picks are switched over to SJS.
IMO the league should be able to handle going on their spreadsheets and erasing SJS with NYI and vice versa.

Re: Farewell
JUST LET THE GUY HAVE HIS FAVOURITE TEAM. COME ON CC. If we as hockey fans can't understand wanting to have our favourite team, it's a sad day.
Re: Farewell
This shit's boring.. the only time I'd consider allowing a team switch/name switch would be as an attempt to balance the conferences. Even this idea, however, I am not currently in favour of.
