London Free Press confirms. RIP. Definitely my favourite person to play for the Leafs when he did.
Funny note, I saw him score a goal at the acc after 2 seasons goal-free. Funny thing was I called Belak scoring on the way to the game.
Damn, I really thought he was going to become a great TV Guy.

Just mentioned on the radio in vancouver as true. However they reported that he was found dead no mention of suicide

So sad, RIP Wade.
Hopefully nothing more then a weird coincidence, but there's no doubt the NHL needs to take a good look into the culture of NHL tough guys.
Probert with some heart issues, brain damage and a life full of substance abuse.
Boogard with substance abuse mixed with drinking
Rypien had his demons, lots of rumours of substance abuse although I've yet to see a reliable source for that.
Belak unknown.
However the profession of NHL tough guy has been around for YEARS, never have I seen something like this. One thing, that seems to have changed from what I can tell, is the life-style. More fame, more money, more parties. Perhaps that need to get in check? Perhaps Shiv is right, there is a side-effect to a common drug between them that is not known or is being used incorrectly. It's not okay though, for good people to be passing away so young, especially healthy hard-working, by all accounts good people.
